by Ken Sands

Paris who started outside the front row, took the lead when 2001 track Champ Terry Bronson dropped out with mechanical problems. Timmy Bronson worked his way from his twelfth starting spot to fall just inches short at the finish. A post race inspection though found Bronson's #24 to be illegal giving second to his younger brother Jason Bronson followed by Tim Hunt, Richard Peacock and Steve Johnson.

The $1500 to win Wingless Limited Sprint main went to Clyde Poole in a brand new PEP racing chassis over Bruce Brantley, Tim George, Jimmy Bellew and John Retzlaff. The 360 Sprint Shootout went to Paulie Milum over Darryl Smith, Tommy Thompson, Casey Johnson and Darrin Miller.

The Mini Stock main went to Devin Dixon over Ken Rutledge, Dorsey Strickland, David Boerner and Scotty Williams. The Late Models fell to Rusty Dixon over Bobby Alexander Jr., Devin Dixon, David Schmauss and Phillip Cobb.
