Gary Padula Wire To Wire In Hialeah Street Stocks

HIALEAH, Fla. - Gary Padula was hot on a blustry Saturday night at Hialaeh Speedway as he led wire to wire in winning the 25 lap street stock finale. Wheeling his familiar Nova, Padula grabbed the lead at the outset and outran Mike Orth for his ninth victory this season. Point leader Rick Lutz checkered third ahead of T.C. McElyea and Mike Kohut.

Mini stock point leader garnered another victory with an easy win in the small car 25 lap headliner. Veteran Steve Quick brought his Chevy home the runner-up ahead of Tommy Styer, Bill Calder and Ray Lanes.

Roger Bohannon used his favorite outside lane enroute to his ninth victory of the season in the cyclone 25 lap main. Harvey Freeman and Mike Powers led early but engine woes made Powers a sittinig duck for Bohannon on lap 16. Powers did hang on for runner-up money ahead of Freeman, Bryan Cook and Ken Voight.

Kim Pike topped the ladies in the Powder Puff special ahead of Monica Orth and Yvette Gort while Brian Paradis changed cars and came back to win the accident-marred Dwarf Car special over Stan Hope and Mike Landis.
