ERIC BLACK WINS SUPER LATES AT NSS

The (r) word passed us by last night at NSS but it was a
crazy night for sure in the Late Model class. Alot of
wrecked and damaged cars went home, Chad Pierce even
went home with a new convertible race car. But no one
was hurt but the cars and that is always a good thing.

Randy Dye's #43 had the pole for the Late Model feature
race but after several wrecks in that class, it was
Robert Anderchek's #90 taking the win. Chasing down
Anderchek was the #77 of Brian Bellaw. The last lap
of the race was a crazy one and saw the red come out
for the second or third time. Finally, the race was
called with Anderchek in the win, Bellaw second,
the #11 third, Mike Todd's #84 fourth and Bruce
Lawrence III's #16 fifth.

The Mini-Stocks saw the #9 of Dale Casteel on the pole
but it was the #01 of Conrad Grenier who jumped to the
lead on the start. Conrad held off the #7 of Tim
"Missileman" McPhail and the #71 of Ted Vulipus lap
after lap to take home the win. In spite of spinning
on the front stretch, the #6 of David Castello came
from the rear to finish fifth, a job nicely down. The
top five were:

1. #01 - Conrad Grenier
2. #7 - Tim "Missileman" McPhail
3. #71 - Ted Vulipus
4. #55 - Rick Tumey
5. #6 - David Castello

The Super Late model feature saw Eric Black in the #10 on
the pole but it was the #11 of David Rogers who jumped to
the lead. But Rogers seemed to have some mechanical
problems which took him out of the race and giving Black
back the lead. The top five were:

1. #10 - Eric Black
2. #20 - Ron DiCandio
3. #17 - Marc Kinley
4. #1
5. #00

Dale Clouser's #30 sat on the pole for the Sportsman
race but it was the #04 of Doug Samion who passed
on the start and took the lead. But this was not to
be his night as the #7 of Chuck Abell took over and
never looked back. The #111 of Donnie Williams tried
to lead the pack but it was just not to be. The top
five were:

1. #7 - Chuck Abell
2. #111 - Donnie Williams
3. #04 - Doug Samion
4. #07 - Ron Lufcy
5. #30 - Dale Clouser

If you thought you were seeing double tonight in the
Modified class, you were. Two no. 7's were in the field,
one being driven by Mark Vandevender and the other by
Tank Tucker. The #99 of Jeff Anderson was on the pole
and carried the lead until the #09 of Rob Underwood gave
the move over sign. But it was not long before Tucker
had made his move in the #7x and taken over the top spot
to win again. Justin Henderson in the #16 did another
fine job of making it into the top five. Boy, if this
guy had one more lap, he might have made it into fourth.
Top five were:

1. #7x - Tank Tucker
2. #09 - Rob Underwood
3. #99 - Jeff Anderson
4. #75 - Bobby Blake
5. #16 - Justin Henderson

Super Stocks were out in force as the #35 of Tim Ewing
had the pole for the feature race. But it was the #61
of Ted Helmes who was determined to win the race and
donate his winnings to Jim Winterstein and his family
that took the lead. Ewing tried everything but could
not take the lead back away from the determined Helmes.
Next week this class will have a 30 lap race for the
injured #13 Super Stock of Jim Winterstein. The top
five were:

1. #61 - Ted Helmes
2. #35 - Tim Ewing
3. #00 - John Hodge
4. #55 - Jim Snyder
5. #45 - Mike Soukup

I missed the Strictly Stock race but the top five were:

1. #38, 2. #11, 3. #100, 4. #27, 5. #27

Join us next week for the 30 lap Super Stock Benefit
race for Jim Winterstein and heats and featurs in all
divisions.

Jane Smith
