LAKE CITY: THE SATURDAY EVENING RACES AT THE LAKE CITY SPEEDWAY STARTED WITH THE PURE STOCK CLASS,. FT. WHITE'S 17 YEAR OLD NEVIN GAINEY (0) HELD OFF JOHN "BOY" WOOD (23) OF MADISON FOR THE VICTORY. MIKE HAVARD OF MADISON HAD HIS BEST FINISH WITH HIS NEW CAR (65j) BY INCHING OUT TRENTON'S TRICIA TAYLOR (28) FOR THIRD. COLEMAN JANDLE III (65) OF MADISON FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE OF THE 12 CAR FIELD.

THE STREET STOCK SHOW SAW TRENTON'S SHANE TAYLOR (82) BRING BACK HIS WINNING WAYS AS HE NARROWLY BEAT LAKE CITY'S DEAN SANDS (44) FOR HIS FIRST WIN IN FOUR WEEKS. JACKIE THOMPSON (55) OF HIGH SPRINGS HELD OFF THE LAKE CITY'S LEE BRINKLEY (37) FOR THIRD. TRENTON'S DEBBIE SHEPARD (8), AND LAKE CITY'S WAYNO RISNER. IN THE NINE CAR FINISHED OUT THE TOP SIX..

THE LATE MODEL SPORTSMEN BROUGHT A TEN CAR SHOW THAT HAD. THE BRANFORD LEGEND RANCE PHILLIPS (27) CONTINUE HIS WINNING WAYS BY BEATING OUT LAST WEEKS WINNER LEE NEWSOME (07). THE EVERPRESENT GARY PALMER (37) OF THOMASVILLE. GA HELD OFF LONNIE ROBERTS (81) OF SPARKS, GA FOR THIRD. RONERTS HAD TO REBUILD BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR ENDS AFTER A ONE CAR WHACKING OFF THE DIRT WALL. KEVIN WHEELER (99) AND WAYNE STEVENS (55) FINISHED OUT THE TOP SIX OF THE 10 CAR FIELD. .

THE PURE STOCKERS WHO HAD NOT WON YET FINISHED OUT THE NIGHT WITH A TROPHY DASH. THE SIX CARS RUNNING RAN LIKE THEY HAD THEIR LIVES BET ON THE RACE. TRENTON'S LARRY DAVIS (7) HELD OFF THE HARD CHARGING MIKE HAVARD (65J) TO WIN THE TROPHY. THE 36 CAR OF MICHAEL SCHEFFIELD OF LEE HELD OFF MADISON'S TIMOTHY WILLIAMS (53) TO FINISH OUT THE TOP 4.

NEXT WEEK BRINGS BACK THE V-8 SPRINT CARS, ALSO AN "INVITATION ONLY" TOPLESS LATE MODEL RACE.
