It's time to race!
   

October 14, 2001

Racing Action at Charlotte County

The night's features got underway with the Hendry's Mango Maniacs Cowboy Cadillacs. #85 Michael Macho sat on the pole for the ten truck field, but #9 Steve Edlin had the lead by the end of the first lap. By the second lap #33 Don Van Acker was out in front. Van Acker held on to take the win followed by #37 Cheryl Weaver in second and #2 Gene Pack in third.

#6 Kevin Utter had the pole for the Lee's Auto Detail & Transmission Pure Stock twenty five lap feature. Utter was able to hold position throughout the race to take the win. #49 Joe Butler took second with #7 Danny Caylor coming in third in this all green flag race.

Up next was the Lee's Auto Repair Road Warriors with #97 Frank McIntosh on the pole of this twenty five lap race. #77 Duane Campbell Sr. took the lead on the first lap, but lost it on the second lap to #9 Gary Miller. For the last five laps of the race the real battle was for second, third, and fourth between #73 Del Beckner, #21 Andy Wood, #28 Joe Bossey. Miller held on to take the win with Beckner taking second and Wood taking third.

Eleven cars lined up for the Shirley's Bookkeeping Rebel Road Warriors twenty five lap feature with #68 Al Welling on the pole. #74 Chuck Stevens took the lead on lap one and lost it to #36 Stuart Vandevander on lap four. Vandevander made a quick stop in the pits soon after taking the lead, passing the lead off to #88 Wayne Wilson for a time. Wilson and #55 Conrad Molter got together on lap six and both were in the rear on the restart while #14 Ricky Gill had the point. #36 Vandevander was back out front by lap nine and was able to hold on for the win. #88 Wilson came in second while #14 Gill came in third.

The Kix Country Sportsman feature got underway with #63 Ryan Malone on the pole. #39 Phillip Johnson took over the lead on lap twelve and held it to take the win. #9 Jerry Bryant came up from the back of the pack to take second, and #8 Raymond Jones took third after starting out in twelfth place.
