Double Features @ Lake City

LAKE CITY: THE RACE WHICH WAS RAINED OUT SEPTEMBER 22, AT THE LAKE CITY SPEEDWAY WAS CONCLUDED SEPTEMBER 29. THE EVENING STARTED WITH THE PURE STOCK CLASS, JOHN "BOY" WOOD (23) OF MADISON PULLED OFF A VICTORY BY INCHING OUT LAKE CITY'S GENE OSTEEN (9). JOSH MOORE (84) OF BELL HELD OFF THE EVER CHARGING COLEMAN JANDLE III (65) OF MADISON WHO CAME FROM THE BACK OFTHE 12 CAR PACK TO FINISH FOURTH. TRENTON'S TRISH TAYLOR (28) FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE.

THE LATE MODEL SPORTSMEN BROUGHT THE FIRST PART OF THE RACING THUNDER DOUBLE HEADER. THE BRANFORD LEGEND RANCE PHILLIPS (27) CONTINUED HIS WINNING WAYS. SPARK'S GEORGIA'S LONNIE ROBERTS (81) HELD OFF THE EVERPRESENT GARY PALMER (37) OF THOMASVILLE. GA TO FINISH SECOND. DANNY BREVIG (15) OF VALDOSTA FINISHED WITH HIS BEST FINISH THIS YEAR WITH A FOURTH PLACE FINISH JUST AHEAD OF KEVIN WHEELER (99).

THE V-8 SPRINT CARS MADE THEIR SECOND TO LAST SHOWING THIS SEASON AT THE LAKE CITY SPEEDWAY WITH THE SECOND PART OF THE RACING THUNDER DOUBLE FEATURE. JACKSONVILLE'S OTTO SCRAPE III (3) HELD OFF BROTHER LEE (42) FOR THE WIN. GEORGE PEDRICK (20) HELD OFF OCALA'S MIKE LOVE (5) FOR THIRD. JACKSONVILLE'S SCOTT BOYLES (24) FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE IN THE 10 CAR FIELD.

THE STREET STOCK SHOW SAW JACKIE THOMPSON (55) OF HIGH SPRINGS HOLD OFF THE TRENTON DOMINATOR, SHANE TAYLOR (82) FOR HIS SECOND WIN THIS SEASON AND WHAT LOOKS LIKE A SEAL ON THE 2001 STREET STOCK POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP. LAKE CITY'S DEAN SANDS (44) FOLLOWED SHANE WHILE HOLDING OFF RACER "X" LAKE CITY'S WAYNO RISNER. LEE BRINKLEY (37) OF LAKE CITY FINISHED OUT THE TOP FIVE.

THE MINI SPRINTS HAVE RESCHEDULED THEIR NIGHT OF RACING FROM SEPTEMBER 11 TO NEXT WEEK (OCTOBER 6) WHEN THEY WILL HAVE DOUBLE FEATURES. LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN, PURE STOCKS AND STREET STOCKS WILL FINISH OUT NEXT WEEKS SHOW.
