Race Car Engineering Sunbelt Series Triple Crown

By Rick Anges

PICTURE
The final races of the season for the Race Car Engineering Sunbelt Super Late are set for this weekend November 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The three race series is in its nineteenth season and has been run by several sanctioning bodies over the years but the success of the FASCAR Sunbelt series will make this one to remember. Over 75 drivers have competed in the series this year alone so the fields should be good and competitive for all three races.

Starting on the tough High-Banked 3/8 mile 18 degree banking at Orlando Speed World on Friday the drivers and crews will have their hands full. The short but fast racetrack makes passing an exciting thing to watch with plenty of side-by-side action. Saturday night brings the High-Banked speed driven mile oval of New Smyrna Speedway.

Speeds in excess of over 130 mph make racing one this track one of the most exciting nights of the three-race deal. Then its on to Charlotte County Speedways the original home of the third leg of the "Triple-Crown". The slick little 1/3-mile will be a challenge to all the competitors and will wind up a great weekend of Super Late Model action.

The "King" of Short Track Racing Dick Anderson has a large point lead going into the final three races leading over Governors Cup winner James Powell III 1040 to 910 points. Under the right circumstances the race for the championship could go down to the wire.

Also on the line is the fact that no one has ever won all three legs of the prestigious Triple Crown and the first racer that does and wears the crown will have the eyes of all of Late Model racing on him.

So dont miss the races of the year coming to a track near you or catch all three!
