KARNAC .com Hits the Airwaves

For the latest on the show follow this link: Racin' Talk Radio

(KNS Aug 18,2000) Florida Stock Car Racing has been in the business of supplying you the race fan (not only here in Florida but across the country) with news, hopefully some entertainment, and enabling you to have an interactive role in the racing community for the past three years.

It's that interactive part that causes the problem.

Last year, the St. Petersburg Times ran a story by writer Bob Boyle titled "For some of best trash talking, try racing Web sites", which of course focused on KARNAC.com message boards's . Twelve track owners to date have personally expressed their dislike (to put it mildly) of our approach to open communication. With the new KARNAC.com Chat Space taking off like wildfire, your ability to communicate ideas and share information has been expanded greatly, and as the lights come on many of you are going to discover whole new vistas of possibilities for both the promotion and enjoyment of your favorite sport.

The interactive part is going to get even better.

KARNAC has always had an ear to the ground and a look to the future of local stock car racing, and has been at the forefront of using the new fangled technologies to the benefit of you, the fan.

Beginning October 4, KARNAC.com will unleash it's own 2 hour prime time Racin' Talk Radio. KARNAC.com Racin' Talk Radio will be broadcasting every Wednesday night from 7-9 PM, bringing you KARNAC in a whole new light. The show will be heard over the airwaves on WWPR 1490 AM from the Pier in downtown Bradenton, as well as live cast on the Internet. The show will feature full interactivity with our KARNAC.com Chat Space, as well as several other features that are so big we must keep them a surprise for you.

The wonderfully exciting and enthusiastic Scott Hawkins and hard charging Rick Anges will co-host the show, backed by a solid team of dedicated race fans, to bring you the most dynamic racin' media show Florida has ever seen.

Scott Hawkins also brings an immense marketing talent to the show, and has a solid vision for the future growth of stock car racing. Rick Anges, as many of you know, has been very instrumental in the continued expansion and impact KARNAC.com has had in the racing community, and is the Editor of Florida Stock Car Racing.

As Rick tells it from his perspective, "From up-to-date race reports to live driver interviews every thing will be based on what has made KARNAC one of the most read and talked about web sites on southern racing . Every week, we will have new topics and answer the questions that you, the readers, have. Also we will be interactive with our chat rooms and will be also broadcast LIVE over the Internet. Hooters Pro Cup, SARA, Florida Pro, Sunbelt and more will be brought to you each week."

Scott Hawkins, rarely at a loss for words, said simply "This is going to be incredible."

Nadia Drury, of Tampa, Florida, in her new role as Director of Marketing and Advertising, is the contact person for companies seeking to take advantage of the awesome opportunities this marriage of the Internet and KARNAC.com's prime time radio venture offer. She is currently developing packages for companies of all sizes to be able to be active participants in the KARNAC.com Racin' Talk Radio production.

The show will not be limited to Florida racing, but will offer a wide array of racing information, news, interviews and features from far beyond the Sunshine State. The show will focus a great deal on fan participation, whether through the normal 800 numbers or by way of the Interactive Internet elements of the show. All of the people such as Jane Smith and others you have come to know through the pages of KARNAC.com will shine their light in a whole new way.

What that all means for you is that it will be one hot and lively racin' show!

Rick Anges sums it up: "Racin' Talk Radio will never be the same again....."

-Jack Smith

[just so no one thinks there is a conspiracy afloat: We lost all of our message boards and some other sections of KARNAC for a few hours today. The problem was caused by a runaway computer program in Atlanta that impacted our server. While trying to recover the data from our main message baord all posts were lost, while the other boards didn't suffer any loss of data. Actually it was my over zealousnesss in trying to correct the problem on my end that led to the loss of the 10,000 plus posts on our main board.]
