HAV-A-TAMPA RETURNS TO JAX RACEWAYS

dirt

Track officials, race fans, and some of the best dirt late model drivers in the country are preparing for the final event of SPEEDWEEK 2000. Jax Raceways located on
Pecan Park road in Jacksonville, Florida, will host a pair of single day Hav-A-Tampa Super Dirt Late Model events, this weekend, February 18 and 19 on the lightning fast 1/2 mile "D" shaped oval, for the first time since 1993.

"The Hav-A-Tampa super dirt late model series has become a big draw for the race fans in this area, and we here at Jax Raceways are glad to host the two
events" said track promoter Roger Godbee. "The two single day events cater to our fans, and I applaud the United Dirt Track Association for putting together this option as an opposed to the two day events."

Track conditions are the best they have ever been, and side by side racing action is expected, throughtout the field, which should see 60 plus cars, trying to make thier way to the feature events.

Steve Francis, of Ashland Kentucky brings a 23 point advantage into Friday nights event, over Rick Eckert of York Pennsyvaina. Eckert claimed the first three events on the Hav-A-Tamp. Donnie Moran currently rides in the third
spot in points, in his first full season of Hav-A-Tampa competition. Moran is coming off a championship season in the STARS series. Mike Balzano of Parkersburg West Virgina and Freddy Smith of Knoxville Tennessee, make up the
top five. Local drivers expected to be on hand, are Chuck Chitty and former Hav-A-Tampa Rookie of the year Earl Pearson JR.
