| INEX Legends Prepare for Winternationals |  >
Drivers from forty-four states and 5 countries are making travel plans and preparations for the 3rd Annual INEX Legends Winternationals, scheduled to begin on February 14th,2000. Registrations continue to roll in and
approximately 200 teams are expected to make the trip to Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida during Speedweeks 2000.
Promoter Mike Sims expects race teams from coast to coast, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Nova Scotia, going at it in three division over the five scheduled race days. All three series champions from 1999 are expected back to defend their titles. The series
has grown from 65 race cars in 1998 to close to 200 in just three seasons. Of course, INEX Legends are popular around the world and Citrus is getting the best representation from most of it in this growing, annual event.
Teams are expected to start arriving on Wednesday, February 9th with the first practice day set up for Friday, February 11th. The whole weekend will be dedicated to testing and tuning sessions before they get down to serious racing for the Valentine’s Day opener on Monday. Testing
and tuning will also will be held on race days in morning sessions 10:00 to 11:30 AM and again in the afternoon sessions from 2 until 5 PM.
Fans are invited to this year’s events for $2 per day or they can buy a $5 pass for the entire series. This is not a points race and the racers know that. They will accumulate points for the series and champions will
be crowned on Friday night (rain date Sat. Feb. 19th if necessary). They come to compete and just have a good time and that they do. This event is set up for the racers vacation enjoyment and a kick off to the 2000
season for the INEX series around the world.
