Florida Dwarf Car Banquet

Florida Dwarf Car Federation, Inc. celebrated their drivers and wives/significant others at the Awards Banquet Saturday, January 15th, 2000, at Chesterfield Village Pub and Grill in Delray Beach, Florida.

Our Champion this year was Alain Paradis of Miramar with 1166 points. He received a large silver cup with a sizable check for his efforts. Second place, and also Rookie of the Year honors went to Daniel Rene of Hollywood with 1090 points. Right behind Daniel, and also a strong contender for Rookie of the Year was George Landis of Boca Raton with 1042 points. One mishap kept George from catching Daniel and finishing second. They both received progressively smaller silver cups and checks. Everyone received a check for their efforts and participation this year, the amount being greater than the membership fee, including membership in the National organization, UDRA.

The fourth place finisher was Richard Andrews of West Palm Beach, followed by Mike Landis of Boynton Beach, Dennis Diehl of Royal Palm Beach, Mark Landis from Delray Beach, Rick McFarland of West Palm Beach, Stan Hope of Ft Myers,
Bob Quick of Jacksonville, Mario Giard of Hollywood, Michel Fortin also of Hollywood, Bill Moody of Lake Worth, Brian Paradis (Alian's son) of Miramar, Claude Guay of Venice, Billy Barnes of Hollywood, Phil Krauthoff of Stuart,
Spike Parham from the Lakeland area, now living in Oregon, Rick Shaw of Princeton, Preston Galloway from Youngsville, North Carolina, and Andre Gagnon of Hollywood.

There was a short meeting after the meal, taking care of some small business matters and electing officers. The rules were approved as presented with the addition of an Associate Member clause. These rules are available to anyone
asking for them with the inclusion of a self addressed, stamped envelope. We start the season with 16 paid members from the banquet, with at least ten others completing their applications and mailing them shortly. We look forward to meeting our many fans at the races this year and welcome all who wish to race with us.
-Bill Moody
