The asphalt strip in 3 and 4 will be replaced with a concrete patch
that should make setting up the cars a real challenge. Last years pure stock
2nd place point man Bruce Sherwood driver of the Fumble Inn, Thompson
Automotive #05 car said the in his opinion "It's gonna be real rough on the
cars going from a slick surface to an abrasive surface with the main problems
being broken axles and tire wear."
Track owner DeWayne Musick was quoted in the Bradenton Herald as
saying "Our first concern is the safety of our drivers, concrete will hold up
much better. It should only take 3 or 4 days to dry. We hope to be back racing April 10th".
The schedule for the night of April 10th has Monster Trucks on the
program along with Pro Figure 8's, Open Wheel Modifieds, Street Stock, Pure
Stock, Novice Stock, and Mini Stock.
On May 1st DeSoto has scheduled its first 100 lap Enduro, these races
are a blast to watch in the almost anything goes first car to a 100 laps no
cautions racing. Anyone having a car and needing a driver e-mail me at my
