            Race Results - Orlando SpeedWorld - January 8, l999

After three weeks of no racing, Orlando SpeedWorld returned to the World of
Stock Car Racing last night.  And the fans must have been happy since we had a
fairly nice crowd to watch the action.

We started out with the Sportsman Division.  In the heat race, we saw the #57
of Chad Pierce with the pole and winning from the pole.  But in the feature
race, it was the yellow #66 of Richard Richards with the pole.  Richard kept
the lead for quite awhile but the #57 of Chad Pierce kept working his way up
from his 4th place start to take the win.  Very good driving Chad and very
nice job Richard.  Top five were:

  l.  #57 - Chad Pierce
  2.  #66 (yellow) - Richard Richards
  3.  #2 - Glen Carter
  4.  #4 - Ron Blackard
  5.  #36

The Bomber division saw the #22 of Homer Gordon with the pole for both the
heat and feature races.  Homer did win the heat race from the pole but it was
a different story in the feature race.  Homer worked very hard to keep the
pole position but the #0 of Mark Schurer and the #40 of Dano Winnett really
battled Homer hard for the winning position.  In the end, it was the #0 taking
the win.  Top five were:

  l.  #0 - Mark Schurer
  2. #40 - Dano Winnett
  3.  #22 - Homer Gordon
  4.  #3 - Charles Fry
  5.  #7x - Bob Wines

The Limited Late Models saw the #67 of Chad Allman with the pole for the heat
race and the #26 of Mike Murphy with the pole for the feature race.  Both Chad
and Mike won their races from the pole.  Chad took the heat and Mike took the
feature.  Top five wre:

  l.  #26 - Mike Murphy
  2.  #22 - Larry Osteen
  3.  #07 - Jim Scoffield
  4.  #3 - Earl Beckner
  5.  #67 - Chad Allman

In the Late Model division, we saw the #86 of Dennis Demers witht he pole for
the heat race and winning the heat race from the pole.  But it was the #41 of
Tim Huston with the pole for the feature race.   It seemed to be a mad
scramble for the lead in the feature race but it was the #86 of Dennis Demers
winning the race.  Top five were:

  1.  #86 - Dennis Demers
  2.  #43 - Billy Pratt
  3.  #50 - David King
  4.  #l8 - Jared Allison
  5.  #6 -  David Hart

In the Mini-Stock division, we saw the #97 of Kelly Jarrett winning both the
heat race and the feature race.  Right behind Kelly was the #11 of Pedie
Allison tapping on his door.  Top five were:

  1.  #97 - Kelly Jarrett
  2.  #11 - Pedie Allison
  3.  #25 - Wayne Clark
  4.  #98 - Jeff David
  5.  #6 - Jamie Dixson

Tonight we only had 4 Modifieds in the field.  Joe Middleton in the #71 had
the pole for the heat race and won from the pole.  But it was the #65 of
Wendell Overstreet with the pole for the feature race but the #7l of Joe
Middleton taking his first feature win for l999. Top four were:

  1.  #71 - Joe Middleton
  2.  #06 - Terry Bryant
  3.  #65 - Wendell Overstreet
  4.  #8 - Kenny Heckle
