Note: these rules were forwarded to Florida Stock Car Racing by a caring fan of Florida racing in order to aid drivers. To ensure you have the most current ste of rules and any changes please contact New Smyrna Speedway at 904-427-4129. These rules ar only valid for Orlando Speedworld and New Smyrna Speedway.

1999 Rules - BOMBER DIVISION

l.  AUTO.  Any American-made two door, steel top/steel body automobile
manufac-
    tured after l970, must be full framed with a minimum wheelbase of l08"
with a
    maximum 358 engine (small block) *Exception fullsize MOPAR.  MAXIMUM 360
    CUBIC INCHES.  NO convertibles, four doors, sports cars, trucks or four
wheel
     drives allowed.  SPECIAL ORDERED VEHICLES NOT PERMITTED IN THIS
     CLASS.

2.  BODY;  STOCK BODY DIMENSIONS ONLY - i.e. roof height, firewall and floor
      pan location.  NO modifications or alterations of any kind.  Stock floor
pans and
      fire wall must remain in original locationa nd all holes must be
patched.  Body
      sheet metal must be kept in place at all times.  ALL Body Mounts MUST
      remain in place.  Doors must be welded shut.  Hood and trunk may be
gutted,
      but all locks removed and hood pins must be used.  Hood, top, door,
wheel wells
      and trunks may be gutted.  l" square tubing may be used for rub rail but
bolts
      cannot protrude outward.

3.  CHASSIS:  Must be full frame except full size MOPAR, NO modifications. NO
     chopping, channeling or shortening.

4   ROLL CAGE:  MUST be properly attached to frame or unibody by continuous
elec-
     tric weld in at least six points.  Doors may be gutted to accommodate a
minimum
     of four door bars.  Tubing must be a l-3/4" OD diameter and .095
thickness.  No
     exhaust pipe, fence posts, muffler tubing or galvanized pipe.  Brace from
top of
     rear bar to axle deck may pass through fire wall and attach to frame on
front side
     of rear axle.  MAY NOT go into truck or through engine compartment.  All
joints
     must be electrically welded with continuous welds.

5.  INTERNAL ENGINE:  Strictly stock for manufacturer.  FORD/FORD,
     CHEVROLET/CHEBROLET.  That size (cubic inch) must have been available
     that year, make model - MAXIMUM 360 CUBIC INCHES.  Maximum .030
     overbore + .010 Hydraulic or Flat Tapet cam.  Flat top replacement
pistons may
     be used OPEN CHAMBER HEAD ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS (76 CC Chambers
     for all manufacturers, makes and models)  NO BIG BLOCKS.  Four bolts main
     engines O.K.   High volume oil and fuel pump O.K.  NO special timing
chains.
     Double row chains O.K.  NO others.  NO grinding or polishing.  NO high
     performance cranks, rods.  Aftermarket crankshaft pulley allowed.  No
other
     alterations.

                            NO ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS

6.  EXTERNAL ENGINE:  Must be in its original location.  Solid motor mounts
O.K.
     NO aluminum intakes.  NO polishing.  Stock cast iron two-barrel intake
manifold
     only.  Rochester two-barrel carburetor only.  Choke may be removed.  NO
     Holley's carburetors, stock or aftermarket.  NO cowl intake or hood
scoops.
     Stock cast iron manifold ONLY. 2" truck center dumps O.K.  Exhaust pipes
may
     not run straight back.  Must turn to either side of car or turn to one
side.  Engine
     pulley must be stock OEM.  Distributor may be any year.

7.  DIFFERENTIAL:  Strictly stock.  May be locked.  Wheel studs must be a
     minimum l/2" diameter.

8.  SUSPENSION;  Any shocks allowed cannot be modified, must remain in stock
     location.  Any springs allowed in front, cannot be modified, must remain
in stock
     location.  WEDGEBOLTS allowed in back ONLY.  Non-adjustable spacers.

9.  RADIATOR:  May be oversized.  Belt-driven fan only.  NO electric fan. 
     MANDATORY: single l l/2" OD must be placed in a loop around the radiator
and
     connect to the frame in front of the spring buckets.  NO aluminum
radiators.
     Radiator must have a catch can mounted in front of the engine fire wall.
     *Optional overflow on windshield *  NO ANTIFREEZE

10.  BUMPERS:  Must be securely attached.  Aluminum allowed.

11.  TIRE AND WHEELS:  FASCAR Stamped.  Track Approved MODIFIED TAKE
       OFFS ARE ALLOWED NO NEW TIRES.  ALL TIRES MUST BE A MINIMUM
       OF 50% WORN.  7" racing wheels required with 3" offset on ALL four
tires.
       Track approved tires only.  TIRES FOUND TO BE ILLEGAL WILL BE
       CONFISCATED BY THE TRACK.

12.  STRIPPING:  Interior parts can be removed.  Exterior trim must be removed
-
       headlights, parking lights, side lamps, back-up lights, tag lights,
etc.  Hood,
       top and trunk may be gutted.  Hood and trunk pins must be used.  All
glass
       must be removed.  lexan windshield MANDATORY.  All Plastic, cloth and
       flammable interior must be removed.  All body sheet metal will be kept
in place
       at all times.

13.  WEIGHT:  Wheelbase ll2" and over minimum 3200 lbs.  Wheelbase under
       112" minimum 3300 lbs.
       A.  ALL WEIGHT added to cars MUST be bolted in with minimum l/2" bolts
             with locking nuts minimum 2 bolts/nuts per 50 lbs. minimum 5 lb.
blocks
              and MUST be painted white with the car # painted or engraved on
each
              block.  NO WEIGHTS ALLOWED IN DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT

14.  FUEL/FUEL CELL:  Scatter shield.  FUEL CELL MANDATORY 22 gal.
       maximum with foam, must have check valve.  9" MINIMUM GROUND
       CLEARANCE and rear protection bar minimum l l/4" .095 bar, 2 straps
        minimum l" width, surrounding the ENTIRE fuel cell.  Fuel cells must
be
        bolted NO RIVETS - NO SHEET METAL SCREWS.  Location of fuel cells
        MUST be approved by Tech Inspector.  PUMP FUEL ONLY.  NO ALCOHOL,
        NO ADDITIVES, NO ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS.  Exhaust must exit outside
        of car.

l5.  BATTERY:  Battery will NOT be located in the Driver's compartment.
Battery
      and any electrical connections must be a minimum of l8" from fuel cell.

      A battery disconnect switch is MANDATORY and must be easily accessible
to
      the Safety Crew and Driver.  "ON" AND "OFF" MUST BE LABELED CLEARLY
      TO BE SEEN BY THE SAFETY CREW FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR.

16.  SAFETY:  Please refer to General Rules.  ALL SAFETY EQUIPMENT MUST BE
       USED ANYTIME THE RACE CAR IS ON THE RACING SURFACE.  DOT
       APPROVED HELMET AND SAFETY APPROVED GOGGLES OR FACE
       SHIELD, COMPLETE FIRE SUIT, GLOVES AND SHOES.  TECH
       APPROVED WINDOW NET WITH OUTSIDE ACCESS RELEASE WINDOW
       NET MUST COVER A MINIMUM OF 75% OF WINDOW OPENING. 
       ALUMINUM DRIVER'S SEAT IS REQUIRED.  SAFETY HARNESS -
       APPROVED/DATED - 3 YEAR OLD MAXIMUM.  FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

           ON BOARD FIRE SYSTEM HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
