IT'S TIME TO RACE!!

Scofield Takes AACS Late Models
By Rick Anges

Bradenton Fl., Wayne Anderson brought one of his old
All-Pro cars out of moth balls and took fast time for
race #5 of the “Hoosier Cup” All American Challenge
Series.

The roll of the die came up a zero and there was no
inversion of the field. The green dropped and it was
Scofield who powered his way to the front.

The only challenge to Scofield was late in the race
when Chris Fontaine who used a bump draft to get by
Scofield to take the top spot. It wasn’t long before
Scofield was challenging him for the lead.

Scofield was able to get under Fontaine coming out of
four and the two got together sending Fontaine around
in a cloud of Hoosier tire smoke. The officials on the
track deemed that Fontaine had come down on Scofield
sending the #47 car to the rear of the field.

From there on Scofield dominated the race taking his
second win in a row, Wayne Anderson took second, third
was Dawayne Bryan, fourth across the stripe was Jeff
Choquette, and rounding out the top five was Mike
Bresnahan.

International Contractors Street Stocks

The Street Stocks ran “Twin 25” lap races making up
for their feature that was rained out the week before.

Race#1
Brian “DejaVue” Teeters the ’04 Champ was coming off a
rough night at Orlando Speedworld running the Southern
Sportsman Series roared from the rear of the pack to
take the win, second across was Dennis Wilson in only
his second race in the former pure stock machine,
William Slack was third, fourth went to Wayne Dove and
in fifth Rob Taylor.

Race #2
William Slack came out strong and was not to be denied
in race #2 as he was first across the stripe, once
again it was Dennis Wilson taking the second spot,
Brian Teeters took third, fourth went to Greg Krom and
fifth was Duane Best.

Sleep Inn Suites Bombers
“Radical” Rick Germony has had a black cloud over his
head the past few weeks but the skies cleared and he
roared to the checkered flag, second was Sean
Cavanaugh, third went to James Crawford Jr., fourth
was Jesse Adair, and rounding out the top five was Jay
King.
