Tech Shakes up Thunder Trucks Finish at CCS
PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (April 30) – Post race technical inspection took its toll on Charlotte County Speedway’s Thunder Trucks division Saturday night, as the top finishers in both the regular feature and make-up feature were disqualified for illegal heads.

On the track, Mike Bialecki of Fort Ogden won both times, but his No. 8 truck failed tear down inspection. Bialecki is the points leader in Thunder Trucks.

The top three trucks in the make-up feature were DQed, while two of the three in the regular feature were disqualified.

Robert St. John of Arcadia, who originally placed second, bounced up to first in the regular feature. Wally Smith of Fort Myers ended up second and Bob Charette of Fort Myers was third.

In the make-up, Smith was the winner, Charette second and Robert Benning of Punta Gorda was third.

The first place car in the regular Road Warrior feature was also disqualified. Chris Huntoon’s No. 40 car was DQed after he refused to tear down following a protest by another competitor. That left John Garrett of North Fort Myers the winner. Greg Anderson of Englewood was second and Don Justice of North Port was third.

Huntoon captured the Road Warrior make-up race held earlier in the evening. Garrett was second and Mike Nelson of Cape Coral was third.

Four-Cylinder Adults and Kids also ran double features. Peter Amelotte of Port Charlotte captured both Adult races and Chris Loney of Naples won both Kids races.

In the Action Glass Super Stocks, Clete Trimmer of Alva won in his 0 Ford. Brian Teeters of Bradenton took second and Mike Loney of Naples was third.

The Q Auto Accident Attorneys Outlaw Figure 8s went 25 laps with Zach Perry of St. Petersburg winning in the 42 car. Veteran Charlie Meyer of St. Pete was a close second.

This coming Saturday night, May 7, at Charlotte County Speedway will see the third in the Limited Late Model series along with the return of the Prompt Towing School Bus Figure 8s. Also on the schedule is a 50-lapper for Sportsman.
