Butler Wins Wingless Sprint Car Event In Punta Gorda
Shane Butler of Bushnell powered his Bushnell Quick Lube, Katz Well Drilling #1 to the win in the Central Florida Wingless Sprint Car main at Charlotte County Speedway in Punta Gorda.

Butler had all he could do to hold off his father Stan Butler and veteran Jimmy Alvis for the $1000 payday. The three cars battled most of the 25 lap main with the youngster prevailing at the end over the seasoned veterans.

Stan Butler in his Bushnell Quick Lube #18 held on for second over Jimmy Alvis in the #29T PEP sponsored mount, Troy Decaire in the #41 Dirt Devils Raceway, Thomas Trucking sponsored ride finished in 4th, with Charlie Ladner in the Auto Craft sponsored Mac Steele owned #0 taking 5th.

Daryl Smith in the Ken Sands owned Buddys Home Furnishings #3 took 6th, with Ernie Teed Jr. in the Carla Rudolph owned #48, defending Champ Curtis Carter in the 2C, Jimmy Thompson in the Micheal Rudolph #87, and Bobby Gordon in his All Tech Roofing #29 rounding out the top 10.

Hard Charger of the race goes to Daryl Smith. The next scheduled event will be at Auburndale Raceway on May 7th. Heat wins went to Alvis and Ladner
