BLEVINS SPEEDS TO FASTRUCK WIN AT CHARLOTTE COUNTY SPEEDWAY

Todd Blevins passed for the lead at the halfway point and went on to post a comfortable win in the 50-lap feature for Fastrucks Sunday afternoon at Charlotte County Speedway.

It was the first of Fastrucks Winter Heat schedule.

Fourteen trucks took the green. Blevins' No. 3 Chevy passed Wayne Morris' No. 56 for the lead on lap 25. From there he pulled away to the win.

Morris muscled his truck past Kevin Williams for the lead nine laps in.

In the end, both Morris and Williams would see their runs ruined when rear ends smoked and broke in their machines.

Tom North of Plantation ended up second in the No. 83 truck. Mason Love of St. Petersburg was third in the No. 96 machine.

Williams led the first eight laps in his orange No. 60 truck.

The Fastkids division of Fastrucks held its own race with 15-year-old David Wilson taking checkers. He is a sophomore at Riverview High in Sarasota. A go-kart veteran, Sunday was Wilson's first ride around Charlotte County Speedway.

A whopping 31 cars showed up to race in the Outlaw Figure 8 race. The No. 40 of Donnie Thomas was the winner.

Another division with great car count was Road Warrior, where 27 monsters came to compete. There were plenty of wrecks with only 10 cars surviving the 25 laps.

Ander Jackson on Punta Gorda Jackson took the checkered flag ahead of Jonathan Abraham and 15-year-old phenom Bobby Fisher.

Kids were also the focus in the 4-Cylinder race. The field was a combined adults/kids affair. The kids won out with 11-year-old Cody Benoit winning and 12-year-old Chris Loney taking second.

The Action Glass Super Stocks also ran a 25-lap feature. Master Danny Caylor was denied victory by Stuart VanDevender, who debuted a shiny No. 36 Camaro. Caylor took second behind VanDevender, a former racing standout at CCS making a comeback. Clete Trimmer was third in his Ford.

Twenty-Five Outlaw Figure Eight racers took the green flag in a race made even more exciting due to track conditions.

Donnie Thomas outran a hard charging Wayne Calkins to take the win.

LIMITED LATE MODELS THIS COMING SUNDAY AT CCS - The first in the Limited Late Model Pacifier Series will unfold on Sunday, Jan. 16, at Charlotte County Speedway.

The 100-lap race will draw some of the top Limited Late Model drivers in Florida. There will also be five support divisions. Racing will begin at 2 p.m.

The front gates will open at noon. The Limited Late Model Pacifier Series will race once a month at Charlotte County Speedway.
