Team FASCAR honors Top Ten at Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway
by Jane Smith

Titusville, Fla (December 6, 2003) In the grand hall at the Titusville Elks Lodge amid Christmas decorations and ballons of red, green, and white and a full house, Team FASCAR honored it's top ten drivers in all divisions at Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway.

With the help of Rusty Marcus, Team FASCAR's newest member, awards were given out to the top ten and the Rookies of each division.

Winning the Championships at Orlando SpeedWorld were Derrick Wood for the Bandolero Bandits, Kevin Henry for the Bandolero Young Guns, Rusty Ebersole for Super Late Model, Matt Wheeler for Open Wheel Modified, Richard Hight for Sportsman, Tim "Missileman" McPhail for Mini Stocks, and Cory Freed for Super Stock.

Rick Bates won the Rookie of the Year award for the Super Lates, Matt Wheeler for the Open Wheel Modified, Justin Hall for Sportsman, Michael Williams Jr. for Mini Stocks and Sean Bass for Super Stock.

Winning the Championships at New Smyrna Speedway were David Rogers for Super Late Models, Brian Bellaw for Late Model, Bobby Blake for Open Wheel Modified, Billy Spade for Sportsman, Ted "Mr Mini Stock" Vulpius for Mini Stock and Charlie Collins for Super Stock.

Taking the Rookie of the Year honors was Bobby Fleckinger for Super Late Model, Tim Clark for Late Model, Matt Wheeler for Open Wheel Modified, Jim Snyder for Sportsman, Ben Hutto for Mini Stock and Josh Wronkowski for Super Stock.

Champions received large trophys, money and Championship jackets and the honor of being the 2003 Champions.

Ray Crews received the Hart Award for his many years of service. Ray died earlier this year. Ray was the "gas man" at both tracks and loved by all.

Robert Hart, owner of both Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway, promised that there are a few surprises in the works for 2004 which should really please the racers. Mr. Hart also thanked Don, Sandy and Dick for a job well done even thought sometimes it feels like you can't please anyone.

The night ended with dancing and friends spending time with friends. Next Saturday night, December 13, will be the Team FASCAR banquet for the Sunbelt Super Late Model Series, Goodyear Challenge Late Model Series and the Pro Modified Series.

Orlando SpeedWorld and New Smyrna Speedway wish all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and see you at the Red Eye 100 at New Smyrna Speedway on January 3, 2004.
