IT'S TIME TO RACE!!

Orlando SpeedWorld Concludes 2003 Season

Bithlo, Fla. (November 14, 2003) As Orlando SpeedWorld concluded the 2003 race season, fans were treated to some pretty cool night air and alot of really hot action on the track. Gerald White Jr. had the pole for the Bandolero Bandit division and led from green to checkered in the caution free race. White quickly jumped to the lead on the green followed by Chad Akins, Matthew Jarrett, Derrick Wood, and Josh Williams. Williams passed Akins and took very second with Woods in fourth and Jarrett in fifth.

Williams put the pedal down and took second away from Akins with Akins following to third. But Akins was then passed by Wood with Akins going to fourth. White took the checkered followed by Josh Williams, Derrick Wood, Chad Akins, and Matthew Jarrett.

Gerald White Jr. took the heat win.

The Bandolero Young Guns also saw a caution free race with Kevin Henry on the pole and winning from the pole. Following Henry over the checkered was Brandon Thompson, Scott Jarrett, Chelsea Shillig, and Nick Wescanick. Kevin Henry took the heat win.

Super Stocks saw Justin Reynolds on the pole for their feature race but before a lap was down, Sean Bass and John Rix brought out the yellow as they spun in turns 1 and 2. A total restart was in order with Jeff Wright taking the lead followed by Reynolds, Bass, Dewayne Freed, and Andy Nichols. Bass passes Reynolds for second with Freed following on his coat tails for third and Reynolds falling to fourth. Rix finds his hands full of Ron Whaley on his tail with Whaley taking fifth. Whaley then puts the muscle on Reynolds and takes over fourth with Reynolds in fifth.

Rob Watford brought out the caution as he spun on the backstretch. Paul Cornelious also spins avoiding the spun car of Watford. Wright holds the point on the restart with Bass, Freed, Whaley and Reynolds in the top five.

Andy Nichols brings out the caution when he spins in turn 2. Wright holds the point on the restart followed by Bass, Freed, Whaley and Reynolds. Bob Starr then brings out the yellow when he spins on the frontstretch. Wright holds the lead on the restart but coming off the backstretch going into turn 3, Cornelious's axle breaks with his tire coming off. Cornelious is fine but done for the night.

Wright holds the point on the restart. Whaley is able to pass Bass with Freed going along for the ride and Bass sliding into fourth. Wright takes the checkered followed by Ron Whaley, Dewayne Freed, Sean Bass, and Cory Freed.

Cord Freed and Jeff Wright took the heat wins.

Shane Held had the pole for the Open Wheel Modified feature and took the point on the green followed by Matt Wheeler, Jimmy Winks, Glen Bradley and Bobby Blake. Blake passes Bradley and takes over fourth with Bradley going to fifth. Bradley spins on the frontstretch but gets the car going right without bringing out the yellow. Held still has the point but Bobby Blake spins in turns 3 and 4 before the race is over. Held takes the checkred followed by Jimmy Winks, Matt Wheeler, Jimmy Wilkins, and Dennis Wheeler.

Shane Held takes the heat win.

The Bandolero Outlaws saw Michael Williams Jr. take the checkered followed by Dave Jarrett, Scott O'Connor, Sam Gerhart, and No. 33. Michael Williams Jr. took the heat win.

Bruce Gayton had the pole for the Sportsman feature but it was Robert Hight in his brother Richard's Sportsman who jumped to the lead on the green followed by Gayton, Donnie Smith, Randy Hecker, and Charlie Vest. Smith passes Gayton and takes over second with Gayton sliding to third. West takes over fourth as Hecker goes back to sixth and Earl Beckner is now in fifth.

Charlie Vest brings out the only caution as he spins going down the front stretch. Hight holds the point and takes the checkered followed by Donnie Smith, Earl Beckner, Bruce Gayton and Randy Hecker.

Charlie Vest and Earl Beckner took the heat wins.

Sean Bass had the pole for the Mini Stock feature but it was the 2003 Mini Stock Champion Tim "Missileman" McPhail who jumped to the lead on the green followed by Bass, Dick Laszlo, Michael Seay, and Josh Hermann.

Sean Bass brings out the yellow when he hits the turn 2 wall coming off the frontstretch. Bass is fine but his car is done for the night. McPhail holds the point on the restart followed by Laszlo, Seay, Hermann, and Randy Blakeslee. McPhail takes the final win for 2003 at Orlando SpeedWorld followed by Dick Laszlo, Josh Hermann, Randy Blakeslee, and Michael Seay. After the race, Blakeslee was penalized one position for jumping the restart. Blakeslee moves to fifth with Seay in fourth.

Tim "Missileman" McPhail took the heat win.

Bobby Fleckinger had the pole for the Super Late Model feature but before a lap was down, the yellow came out for B.J. McLeod who spun in turn 1. McLeod goes into the pits and is unable to return to the track.

Fleckinger holds the point on the restart followed by Jim "Hoot" Flynn, Mike Heingardner, Ronnie Roach and Ricky Wood. Flynn passes Fleckinger for the lead with Heingardner moving to second followed by Ronnie Roach in third, Ricky Wood in fourth and Fleckinger in fifth.

Rusty Ebersole passes Fleckinger and takes over fifth and then passes Flynn for fourth with Flynn sliding to fifth. Fleckinger brings out the caution as he spins coming off turn 2. On the restart, Heingardner holds the point and takes the checkered followed by Ronnie Roach, Ricky Wood, Rusty Ebersole, and Jim "Hoot" Flynn.

Ricky Wood and Ronnie Roach won the heat races.

Richie Laszlo had the pole for the Strictly Stocks and lead from green to checkered. Following Laszlo on the start was Roger Benton, Chester Sutorous, Donald Springer, and Bobby Crites Jr. Crites passes Sutorous for third as Springer falls out of the top five and Todd McCreary moves into fifth. Sutorous hits the backstretch wall coming off 2 but continues as Crites spins on the backstretch.

Laszlo maintains the lead as McCreary slows moves his way to second with Sutorous dropping out. Laszlo takes the checkered followed by Todd McCreary, Roger Benton, Donald Springer and Ricky Soloman Jr.

Richie Laszlo took the heat win.

Hurricane results were not available.

Orlando SpeedWorld is closed next Friday night due to the running of the Governor's Cup at New Smyrna Speedway on November 22nd. On November 28th, CRASH-A-RAMA returns to SpeedWorld for it's final show of 2003.
