Florida Mini Sprints Invade Thundercross 11/8
The Florida Mini Sprint Association arrived early on Friday for the 2-Night Fall Classic Show at the beautiful Thundercross Motorsports Park.

The 1st. Heat Race Lined up on Friday with the #95 of Tom “Figgy” Newton and the #11 of Cory Spencer on the front row. When the green flag dropped the #11 of Cory Spencer took the lead with the #95 in 2nd. The #69 of TJ (Raymond) Heider would get by the #95 along with the #56 of Mike Sprague. The #11 of Cory Spencer led every lap of the heat race for his 1st. heat race Win with the #69 in 2nd. and the #56 rounding out the top 3.

The 2nd. Heat Race started out with the #19T of Matt Tiffany and the #19 of Mike Thomas up front. Once the green flag dropped the #86 of Russ Heider got the jump and took the lead with the #7 of Jesse Teed in second. Both 19T and the 19 would fall out of the race with mechanical problems. Russ Heider driving the (Russell’s Painting) Stewart Chassis would go on to win the 2nd. Heat Race with the #7 of Jesse Teed in second and the #71 of John Craddock in 3rd.

The Feature Event lined up with the #95 of Tom “Figgy” Newton and the #69 of TJ (Raymond) Heider on the pole. When the green flag flew the

#69 took the lead with the back of the field coming to the front. The field would spread out with lots of passing for all positions till the #95 of Tom”Figgy” Newton spinning out in turn 2 with the #7 of Jesse Teed going into the infield to miss him. Once the race restarted the #71 of John Craddock would lead the field with the #86 of Russ Heider in second and the #7 of Jesse Teed in 3rd. The Feature Event would end up with the #71 of John Craddock driving the Bailey Chassis (D&K Motorsports, Napa, John Smith Elect) and the #86 of Russ Heider in 2nd. and the #7 of Jesse Teed in 3rd.

November 8th, 2003

On Saturday Night the Lunar Eclipse was shining in the East when the 1st. Heat Race lined up with the #56 of Mike Sprague and the #20 of Harold Matthews on the front row. The #20 of Harold Matthews took the lead with the #56 of Mike Sprague in 2nd. Harold Matthews led the Heat Race front start to finish with the #56 of Mike Sprague in 2nd. and the #69 of TJ (Raymond) Heider in 3rd.

The 2nd. Heat Race started out with the #71 of John Craddock and the #11 of Cory Spencer on the front row. John Craddock would take the early lead over the #11 of Cory Spencer. The #86 of Russ Heider would make the pass over the #11 and then the #7 of Jesse Teed would follow. John Craddock would go on to win the Heat Race with the #86 of Russ Heider in 2nd.and the #7 of Jesse Teed would round out the top 3.

The #95 of Tom “Figgy” Newton and the #69 of TJ (Raymond) Heider would line up side-by-side for the feature event. The #69 would take the lead on the start of the race with the #20 of Harold Matthews moving to the front. Harold would take the point and lead the race with the #71 of John Craddock in his tracks. The caution flag would come out for a stalled car on the track. When the race was about to restart the #71 anticipated the start and jumped, but had to let of the gas causing the #86 of Russ Heider to jump the #71 Left Rear Tire causing the two to get tangled up. After the track was cleared the #20 of Harold Matthews led the field till the #7 of Jesse Teed would work the outside of the track lap after lap to finally get by the #20 with a few laps to go. Teed working the top of the track and the #20 of Matthews on the bottom of the track. The cars worked the traffic with the #7 of Jesse Teed driving the (T-Bone Chassis, Full Spectrum Racing) taking the Feature Win with the #20 of Harold Matthews right behind and the #96 of Russ Heider in third.
