New Smyrna Gets in Heats, Pro Mod and Double Point Features Rained Out

Samsula, Fla (October 11th, 2003) Just when you think it is safe, the bottom drops out and another Pro Mod 50 lapper is rained out and all other feature races. Last night was double points not only for the Pro Mods but for all other FASCAR divisions.

Alan McCafferty of Clermont set fast time for the seventeen car field for the 50 lap Pro Mod feature. McCafferty turned a 18.953 lap to win the top honor. Second fastest was Lee Collins of Felda with a 18.970. Jim "Hoot" Flynn of Orlando came in third with a 19.084 followed by Larry Osteen of Clermont with a 19.104 and Red Vann of Lutz with a 19.218.

The Pro Mods will race next weekend at Lakeland's USA International for 50 laps along with the Sunbelt Super Late Models, Goodyear Challenge Late Models and the FASTRUCKS for "Racing for Kids".

Double points for Super Stock, Sportsman, and Mini Stocks will be next Saturday night at New Smyrna. Each division will run a double feature with the first feature counting as the double point feature.

The Super Lates, Late Models, and Modifieds will have double features the following week, October 25th, with their first feature counting as double points.

Next Saturday night along with the double features for the Super Stock, Sportsman, Mini Stock and Strictly Stock will be Mini Cups. The Super Lates, Lates and Modifieds have the weekend off for "Racing for Kids" at
