Pat Quick Scores Another Win At Citrus County Speedway
It was another stellar night for Pat Quick who was celebrating the announcement of her engagement to her chief wrench David Veltman, celebrating the 13th birthday of one of her new family members Vickie, and blitzing the Thunder Stock 25 car field from her 25th starting position for her 13th win of the season. It only took her 5 laps to move into the top five in the running when the first caution came out.

For the first time this season, Danny Johnson was able to lead a Late Model race most of the way and hold out for the win without experiencing a break down before the checkers flew. Last week he led the first 65 laps of the 75 lap special before his breaks went away on him making his racer push to the top side of turn four and two before he suffered a flat tire ending his night and the possibility of winning his first race of the season.

This week he was subbing for point leader Mike Bresnahan and helped put some cushion in his lead with only two more races to run before it is all over for 2003. Herb Neumann was really hocked up backing up his win in the second heat with a second place finish in the feature right on Johnsons rear bumper at the flag. Ricky

Mike Veltman is back on track and logged his fifth win in Sportsman action plus picking up his heat win. The Sportsman division was one of four that had thirteen cars in the field for the night. Kyle Bookmiller continues to run consistently with a heat win and a second in the feature. Mike Bell came into the race with an overheat problem during warm ups and was a bit concerned about losing some of his points cushion to Bill Oesterreicher who returned to competition after replacing his second motor in as many weeks. Bell held on for third just in front

Former Mini Stock point leader Chris Thornton took his third win of the season and picked up a few points on current leader Chris Hooker who had to settle for a fourth after winning his heat race. George Neumann made his way through traffic early and chased Thornton to the flag beating out Robbie Yoakam in the run for second. Dustin DesChamps locked onto his 7th top five in his come back after having to take off for seven weeks due to an off track injury and recuperation.

It was an also ran for 22 of the 23 car Hobby Stock field as Sport Wilson checked out from his pole position start. By lap 10 Wilson was beginning to lap the field before a caution closed the ranks with seven lapped cars going to the rear of the field and the lead lap cars lining up again behind Wilson. Brother Wes Wilson moved to within striking distance of Sport but couldnt quite reel him in putting Sport in the winners circle for the 10th time for 2003. Sitting sixt

Next week will feature the UPM Modifieds with the Sportsman, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, Hobby Stocks and Thunder Stocks going into the final three weeks of the 2003 race for the crown and a spot in the top ten for their share of the points fund.
