Mother Nature Dumps too much Water on New Smyrna Speedway

Samsula, Florida (September 6, 2003) Once again New Smyrna Speedway has been rained out due to Mother Nature and her Tropical Storm hitting Central Florida. Although the sun was out late in the afternoon, it was not enough to dry the flooded pits or track at New Smyrna.

The Pro Modified 50 Lapper scheduled for tonight has been rescheduled for October 11. Next Saturday night, the Volusia County Sheriff Department will have their second annual School Bus race for he Florida Youth Ranches supported by the Sheriff's Department.

This has been one of the worse rainy seasons that Florida short tracks have had in awhile. Since June 1, the beginning of hurrican season, it seems that if you race once a month, you are lucky. So hopefully next weekend racing action will once again return to the high banks of New Smyrna Speedway.
