David Browning Wins Late Model Feature at Columbia Motorsports Park
by Marty Little

LAKE CITY, Fla. - Infrequent visitor David Browning made the trip from Jacksonville a success Saturday night as he won the 12 lap Late Model feature event at Columbia Motorsports Park.

Donnie Oden and his Ford paced the early laps, but once Browning was in front it was over with Oden and Ray Wheeler trailing Browning at the checkers.

The make up Street Stock headliner saw Will Jerkins grab the lead on lap four and speed to the checkers in the 25 lap run ahead of Brad Fiene and Ronnie Crawford. Clinton Keen claimed fourth place money after several years away from the sport and Shawn Taylor rounded out the top five.

Jason Garver copped the regularly scheduled Street Stock 25 lapper in front of Jeff Prescott, Jerkins, Shannon Lang and Taylor.
Like the Street Stocks, the Pure Stocks ran a pair of feature events with Josh Bedenbaugh collecting the checkers first in the make-up 20 lap contest. John Roling, Ronnie Cook, Tim Morgan and Trish Taylor trailed Bedenbaugh at the line.

The second Pure Stock main saw Cook the man to beat and no one could get the job done as he notched the trophy over Roling, Russell Patterson, Bedenbaugh and Taylor.

Buck Tedman proved the best of the Hornet racers as he won the 12 lapper for rookie drivers. Scott Dobek was second and Caleb Mahler third.
