Double Points for the "Rocketman"
By Rick Anges

Bradenton, Fl. Wayne Jefferson has been on a tear in the Open Wheel ranks racking up win after win. But the problem was that Jefferson had not officially joined the Open Wheel series until several weeks into the season thus leaving him deep in the point's race. Jefferson made a big jump back up by taking the 35-lap "double points" feature.

Timmy Moore jumped out to the early lead and looked like the car to beat. As the race wore on though it was Jefferson who made the final move and took the lead and the win, second went to Moore, third was Lee Collins, fourth went to Chet Senogossoff and rounding out the top five was John Shields.

Street Stocks

Tim Miller Jr. bought Dennis Wilson Jr.'s champion ride earlier this year to make the jump from mini-stock to street stock. That finally paid off as Miller roared to the checkers and his first ever feature event win, Jonathan Hiedenthal took second, third was Jamie Cassdy, fourth William Slack and fifth Jimmie Best.

Sportsman

Johnny Casady took the green and smoked the rest of the field easily taking the trophy in the sportsman feature, Wallace"Body Damage" Ramsey over came several incidents on the track to take the second spot, third place was Jessie Dutilly, fourth went to James Dubose and fifth went to Clyde Cole.

Mini-Stock

Another driver made his first trip to victory lane as Steve Glover was able to hold off the charge of John Wilson to take home his first trophy win, third was Joe Gagen, fourth went to Mike Gayle and fifth was Ed Jasper.
