Hialeah Race Results

HIALEAH, Fla. - David Weaver rebounded from a disappointing loss the week previous to lead all 25 laps and win the late model sportsman feature event Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.

Starting near the front of the field, Weaver blasted to the lead at the outset and was never headed, posting his initial win of the season over Danny Maddox, Gary McGoron, Billy Barnwell and Bobby Shelton.

Former division champion John Covington dominated the 50 lap street stock main, setting fast time prior, then leading all except the first four circuits of the feature. Ross Padula gave chase but settled for second money over Craig Seewald, Chalo DeCastro and Mike Orth.

Mini stock ace David Russell ran his season win total to 13 as he clicked off yet another win in the 25 lap run for the small cars. Buddy Sizemore came from the back of the dozen car field after spinning Russell early to claim the runner-up slot over Kenny Strong, Harold Cross and Peter Lloyd.

Danny Chance had no real competition in the cylcone main, streaking off the pole to an easy victory, his first this season. Tony Crowder, Robert Sark, Roger Bohannon and Frank Kelliher trailed at the stripe.

Figure 8 action found George Morales an easy victor over Tony Barecca and Chance in the 10 lap special event.

Weekly racing continues through Dec. 9th.
