Budweiser Mr. Mini-Stock Title Goes To Devin Dixon | (Tampa, FL; 10/7/2000) Young Devin Dixon has been the man to beat this year in the Mini-Stocks. With eight feature wins and the point lead in hand, Dixon was looking for the biggest paycheck of his career. Starting outside the front row, Devin powered his Blue Ribbon Farms/BC Family Used Cars #2 to the front at the drop of the green, only to be passed by teammate, Jamie Burrows, on lap 6. However, Burrows held the lead for only two laps as mechancical problems forced him to drop out, giving the lead back to Dixon. From there, it was clear sailing, as the teenager outran the 24-car field to take the Budweiser Mr. Mini-Stock title and $2500.
Following Dixon across the finish line were William Hampton, Robert Douglas, Tony Pineiro, and Ken Rutledge. Heats went to Dixon, Douglas, and Burrows, with Brian Brower taking the Consi race.
In Sprint cars, Robbie Smith took win number 4 over Gene Lasker, Danny Curry, Johnny Gilbertson, and Jesse Fordyce. Heats went to Smith and Brandon Dover.
The Late Models fell to Jack Nosbisch, Jr. over Bill Howard, Donnie Tanner, Bobby Alexander, Sr. and David Schmauss. Heats went to Schmauss and Philip Cobb.
Forrest Gough took the Limited Late Model main over John Bradley, Teddy Jernigan, Jeff Matthews and Roger Crouse. Jernigan and Bradley nabbed heat wins.
The Street Stock main was taken by Terry Bronson over Steve Burch, Gary Sheffield, Danny McCall, and Jerry White. Heats went to McCall, Sheffield and Bronson, with Steve Johnson winning the Consi race.
