Twenty Laps of Organized Mayhem

(Bronson, FL; 8/5/2000) Kevin Durden and the Bronson Late Model Sportsman series roared into town last Saturday night and the "hot shoe" from Archer, FL scored his fourth win in six outings at Bronson's tough asphalt "bullring."

What made it really interesting was that he roared through traffic from his seventh place starting spot on the grid in his Monte Carlo. Randy King drove a great race and finished second, while hard charging Doc Batson was third. Mike Faulk, one of the young guns running for rookie of the year in the SARA Late Model Division was fourth, while Ocala's Roger Damron finished fifth.

PURE STOCK
It was only a matter of time until likeable and hard-working Gerry Hodge came up a winner in his #37 Buick Regal out of Cross City, FL. Saturday was his as he bested John Hedberg and Buck Hedberg with a solid drive in the 20-lap feature. They had a fabulous race of their own and finished second and third, respectively. David Kidd was fourth, while Mike Sprague finished fifth.

SUPER STOCK
Robbie Pedrick had the West Coast Seafood/Cline Racing machine "hooked up" Saturday night and notched a well-deserved win as he dominated from the front row. He was joined by another hard charger on the podium as John Luke finished second in his Chevrolet.

Brad Turner had his new #29 on the track for the first time last week and wasted no time as he planted his ride solidly in the top three with a third place finish. Brody Giddens finished fourth and Fred Tuski was fifth.

Loyal followers of this screaming division have seen victory circle appearances and top finishes by different drivers every week. This just shows what a fantastic bunch of hard chargers these guys are. Fans will be treated to a great show next week as this group "gets it on" with a fifty lap event. Be sure to be with us to see who comes out on top.

MINI-STOCK
"Twenty laps of organized mayhem" is what someone once called the best mini-stock race they had ever seen. Saturday night was no exception as Dave Westrich and Tater Stalnaker battled it out for the entire event. Westrich won by a bumper, but it was a "horse race" as Stalnaker led coming out of turn four on the last lap of the race. Joe Lawson was third, while Kenny Drow finished fifth.

Be sure to be with us this coming Saturday nite , when the SUPER STOCKS will live up to their billing for FIFTY furious laps of racing. They will join the rest of the Bronson Racing Series for a full card of racing. Gates open at 5:30. Racing is at 7:30 See ya'll there!
