Arthur Conquest Wins Super Stock Feature at Bronson's Bullring

(Bronson, FL; 7/24/2000) Arthur Conquest returned in style Saturday night as he brought his rebuilt #70 Nova back to the track and notched a win in the fiercely competitive SUPER STOCK division.

"The car was perfect tonight," Arthur told me after the race. "I wouldn't be here at all if it were not for the loyal support of my sponsors, Rockoustic Systems, Bronson Ace Hardware, Cameron Asbell Insurance, and Robbie at Bronson Lube and Sales. Robbie and the guys worked so hard to give me the motor to win. I'm just glad to be back!" said a happy Arthur after the race.

Robbie is also helping Arthur prepare a new Late Model Sportsman car for the upcoming "Dash for Cash" on August 5th. Fred Tuski had a beautiful run in the Casey's Pub entry and finished second. Brody Giddens was third in his #18 entry. Brody is doing a splendid job filling in for Bubba Hodge in Benny Hodge's entry and is currently second to Arthur Conquest in a very close points battle. Arthur has 1,062 while Brody has 1,050. Watch for these and all the super fast SUPER STOCKS every Saturday night.

PURE STOCK

Jerome Brown made it look easy in his #25 Chiefland Flea Market Camaro as he notched his fourth win in a row in this division. Roy Loyd, driving substitute for David Kidd in the Dr. Jay's #03 Camaro was second, while relative newcomer, John Noga survived two spins during the night to finish in third place.

MINI-STOCKS

Jeff Stalnaker, Sr. returned to victory circle on Saturday after some tough outings in his Robert Austin-sponsored Pinto out of Ocala. Jeff sustained body damage and overcame handling problems the past two weeks to earn the much deserved win. Tater Stalnaker had the Video Central machine going. This pretty car always runs up front.

"I had the car to win tonight," he told me after the race, "but we lost a cylinder halfway through the feature. I guess second is not bad for only three cylinders!" he laughed as he stood in line at the pay window after the race.

Larry Goolsby was third in the Chiefland Machine Shop/J&R Motorsprts entry. Randy Dean of J&R Motorsports has continued to pour his dollars and mechanical knowledge into the #6 entry of Dave Westrich. They finished third Saturday night. Funny thing, this car runs with a For Sale sign on it, but it keeps running up front! Randy and Dave had threatened to sell it earlier this year, but I'll bet the price just went up! Check with these neat guys after the races this week and see "what's up!"

MINI-STOCK--"Dash for Cash"

Always coming up with an entertaining format and fun for the teams and drivers, promotor Dean Pruitt offered a 'Dash for Cash' purse for the non-winners in the MINI-STOCK class Saturday night. Joe Lawson was the winner in the 10-lap event, while Rebecca Clenny finished second in her brand new #3x, Gator Family Haircutters entry from Gainesville.

"It's so much fun to be back!" she told me Saturday night. She has been out of racing for the season until this past Saturday. Charlie Stalnaker was third, and Chet Marlowe had a nice run in his # 74 mini-truck to finish in fourth.

The Bronson Racing Series continues again this Saturday night. Racing is at 7:30 sharp. See y'all there.
