(Ocala, FL; 7/8/2000) The TQ Midgets of the FMRA returned to Ocala Saturday night for the first time in a few years. The midget cars have seen action this year only at Desoto and Punta Gorda.

In the feature, Gary lined up near the rear of the field and when the green flag dropped he "gassed her up" and headed for the front. Gary passed Ocala's own Ben Fritz, who won the heat race, when Ben came up on traffic. Ben lifted for a second and Gary never does. Gimmler pulled out a half straightway lead over Fritz and brother, Mark.

This was the second time Gary pulled the Ralph Wheeler built-machine into victory lane as he broke brother, Mark's stranglehold on midget wins at Desoto a couple of weeks earlier.
