Dixon Dedicates Fifth Win to Kelly Mitchell



Devin Dixon, the current point leader in the Mini-Stocks steered his Blue Ribbon Farms #2 to win number five of the season. The 15-year old driver from Riverview dedicated his win to Kelly Mitchell, the 16-year old daughter of Hillsborough County Deputy Donnie Mitchell, who earlier that day lost her long battle with cancer. Dixon easily outdistanced Scott Howard (#47), Dorsey Strickland (#7), Tony Pineiro (#3), and Arnold Perkins (#56). William Hampton (#29) and Ken Rutledge (#36) took heat wins.

In Sprints, Greg Leonard in the Mulligan Engineering #3 went on to win number 10 over Robbie Smith (#1A), Gene Lasker (#02), Roland Johnson (#71), and Johnny Gilbertson (#8). 'Bubba the Love Sponge' in the 98 Rock car captured his first heat win with 98 Rock car owner, Gene Lasker, winning the second heat.

Keith 'The Real Deal Nosbisch' (#02) took his third Late Model win of the season as he held off the hard charging current points leader, Donnie Tanner (#88). Bill Howard (#47), Jack Nosbisch, Jr. (#12), and Bob Peterson (#45) rounded out the top five. Peterson and Roger Crouse (#32) won the heats.

In Limited Late Models, Tim Gay in the #35 car took the win over Jeff Matthews (#33), Teddy Jernigan (#57), Keith Simpson (#01), and Don Gansner (#0). Matthews and Danny Bowman (#46) took the heat wins.

Raymond Rodgers (#99) took his sixth main feature win in the Street Stocks over Danny Paris (#09), John Boarders (#08), Jerry Lape (#17), and Chuck Rock (#5). Heat wins went to Danny McCall (#22), Tony Jackson (#43), and Danny Paris. Hollie 'Hurricane' Smith in the #60 Short Track USA car took the Consi.
