Anglani Wins Late Model Sportsman at Hialeah

(Hialeah, FL; 6/24/2000) Veteran Todd Anglani started up front and never looked back in leading all 20 laps to win the Late Model Sportsman feature event Saturday night at Hialeah Speedway.

Only an occasional competitor in recent seasons, Anglani looked strong in hustling to the win over Bobby Shelton, Gary McGoron, Bob Regula and David Weaver.

Ross Padula added his name to a long list of Hialeah winners as he notched his first victory at the historic oval. Craig Seewald gave chase in his T-Bird but settled for runner-up honors over Mike Orth, Chalo DeCastro, and Bob Hogan.

A pair of 25 lap runs were on tap for the Mini-Stocks as Steve Quick topped David Russell in the opener with Kenny Strong, Bill Miner and Shawn Reiss completing the top five. In the night cap, it was points leader, Strong, the winner for the first time this year over fast qualifier Russell, Quck, Reiss, and Miner.

Mike Powers topped the Cyclone division for the second consecutive week with a good run over Roger Bohannon, Robert Sark, Heather Lunsford and Tony Crowder.

The visiting Mini-Cups main went to Mike Harrison over Doug Capps and Chris Heilmann. Roger Pfau was an easy winner in the Figure-8 run, ahead of Gabe Hernandez and Jeff Roberts.

The speedway will be closed this Saturday night, July 1st for the holiday weekend, with action back underway on July 8th.
