DoubleFeature Night @ Columbia

LAKE CITY, Fla. - It was double feature night at Columbia Motorsports Park Saturday evening and veteran John Crawford was up to the challenge as he scored wins in both ends of the late model stock 25 lap races. In the make up main from the week previous, Crawford led most of the way to top Chris Tedder and Randy King. In a very unusual occurance the finishing order of the second race was identical to give point leader Crawford his eighth and ninth wins of the season on the half-mile oval.
For the open wheel Florida modified set veteran Eddie Gainey won the make-up 20 lapper ahead of Crawford and J. F. McClellan. In the night's regular event it was McClellan coming back for his second score this season over points leader Crawford and Gainey.
The street stocks also ran a pair of 20 lap mains with the opener going to Randall Jackson ahead of Jeff Prescott and Nick Reid. The second feature saw Flyin' Brad Fiene lead for 13 laps before doing a solo spin to hand the lead and win to Jackson once again with Swain Norris and Prescott rounding out the top three finishers.
Jerry Fortner proved the best of the pure stocks in the rained out 15 lap run over Trish Berry and Robert Young while Marty Wood won the second feature ahead of Fortner and Young. The visiting Classic Race Cars feature went to Danny Shearer over Paul Gryniwicz and Ed Yates
