| Coyle Wins Late Model Sportsman at Hialeah | HIALEAH, Fla. - Finally able to shake the bad fortune which had haunted him of late, Charlie Coyle held off the heavy pressure of Joe Winchell to win Saturday night's 20 lap late model sportsman feature at Hialeah Speedway. Starting from the outside of the front row, Coyle jumped David Weaver on the green and was off and running as Winchell threaded his way toward the front. Once Winchell turned up the pressure, Coyle just had to run his own race for his first win this season. Checkering behind the lead duo was Travis McCoy, Gary McGoron and Danny Maddox. T.C. McElyea fought a bad handling car from the outset but was able to fend off the challenge of Craig Seewald to win his first street stock feature this season. Chasing Seewald's Ford to the line was points leader Chalo DeCastro, Bob Hogan and Steve Godlewski. The time shortened mini stock run was accident marred but Tim Jones had no problem claiming his third win of the year in a borrowed car. Eddie Lowery turned in his best drive of the season for second money over Shawn Reiss, Jim Miner and Eric Rogers. The cyclone division racers had a pair of 25 lap events on tap with Rick Lenhardt the winner of the opener over Linda Schmal and point leader Roger Bohannon while Tony Barecca topped the nightcap ahead of Tony Crowder and Lenhardt.
