Features

Street Stock Feature

Street Stock feature started on time with the normal 24 car field with Pat Grimes #00 on the Pole and Roger Welch #98 outside pole. The race started out very clean with Pat Grimes taking the led on the first lap.Pat had his hands full with Roger Welch #98, who was on his way to second, and Jason Graham in third. The race stayed that way for quite a few laps, but further back in the pack was a big mess.Mike Kowalke #41 running the middle of the racing groove was making it hard on everyone behind him to pass. Clearly many cars behind him were faster, but with the line he was running all the others behind him were stacking up. Ron Davis #40 was leaking a little fluid on the track not enough to see, but enough that the cars behind him were sliding out off the corners. Making it hard for cars to pass clean. Back up front Jason Graham #4 got past Roger Welch #98 for second and was tracking down the leader. It did not take long for Jason to catch the leader, but Jason had a hard time passing Pat. Beating and banging for about 4 laps Jason did everything but spin Pat out to get the lead. On the final lap Jason got into Pat on turns 1 and 2 to take the lead and win the race.

Open Wheel Modified Feature

Open Wheel Modifieds came out with 19 cars for the feature Roger Stull #99 had the pole and John Moore had the outside pole.At the drop of the green flag John Moore started going backwards, while Roger Stull started to run away from the field. An early caution caused things to tighten up and Luke Hill #41 had made his way to second by then.On the restart Roger had a good jump and kept the lead.Further back, the field was speading out. Allyn Summers #56 was making his way back up to the front after being put to the back on a caution.Running right behind the leaders were Chris Robbins #88 and Tom White #30.All of a sudden, Chris turned into the #30 car of Tom White causing his car to go on to his roof and slide down the front stretch all the way to the pit entrance. After a couple of minutes Chris crawled out of his car and waved to the fans. Paramedics informed me that Chris was doing well and had lacerations on his leg.

Mini Stock Feature

Mini Stocks started out with the normal 24 car field.Matt Rotkis #3 on the pole with Steve Pelo #81 on the outside pole.On the drop of the green flag alot of mixing up began.Neither Matt Rotkis or Steve Pelo could keep the lead because Macky Mongold was coming on strong .With some newly found horsepower Macky Mongold took the lead.Back in the pack Marty Neikens #70 looked like he was towing Dennis Valdez #40 to the front. Both of them making all of their moves on the outside lane working hard to run the leader down.Macky was running away with the race but with a caution on lap 17 Macky's lead diminished. This put Marty and Dennis on Macky's back bumper. On the restart Macky got a good jump and made it hard for either Marty or Dennis to catch him. Macky took the win with Marty knocking on the door.

Late Model Features

Late Models were disappointing once again with only a nine car field. Billy Bechtelheimer #6 on pole and Mason Love #0 outside pole. Billy drop to the back on the pace lap putting Sam Coghill on the pole for the drop of the green flag. With really no challenge from Mason, Sammy took the lead on the first lap with Billy Mowery #73 right behind him in second. Billy Mowery #73 was not going to let Sammy run away with this one, staying on Sammy's bumper,Billy was trying everything to get by but Sammy seemed to be running a twolane groove. Trying the outside most of the time. Billy just could not get by Sammy. Sammy's car seemed to be pushing in the corners whenever Billy would try the outside lane. The Flagman warned Sammy about his line several times, telling him to pick a lane.Sammy went on to win with Billy right next to him.

Figure 8 Feature

Figure 8 feature was short a couple of cars and seemed to effect the show a little. Donnie Thomas started on pole with Dwayne Dopell #08 outside pole. As the flag dropped Donnie took off, Dwayne fell back. Bobby Moctuzuma #17 jump in second and was close to Donnie for a couple of laps but Bobby started falling back. Ron Campbell #8 running in third was givingBobby all he could handle for a while. Ron just could not get by Bobby. While all of that was going on Donnie was running away with the race. The intersection was not getting much action until the later laps. Every thing was safe and a good raceoverall.

Enduro Features

Enduros were running their oval races this weekend. With two races for the night the action was continuous. So much was going on that I could not keep track of all of it. In the first race Harold Ashley ranaway with it from the start. The #95 of Rick Hartman was disqualified forthe rearend. Giving the #3 of Charlie Smith the second place finish. Whenthe #27 of Harold Ashley got into the lapped traffic Harold was spun out.The caution came out and Harold got his spot back. Harold went on to win.Second enduro race had the #02 of Pete Cracolici showing the way. Petetook the win with the #49 Chuck Boyle taking second.

This is the way I saw it.
