SS Green Light Racing Welcomes

MOORESVILLE, N.C., January 20, 2010 -- SS Green Light Racing is pleased to announce that Missouri’s Tony Jackson Jr. will pilot the team's No. 07 Chevy Silverado for seven races in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season beginning at Martinsville Speedway on March 27th.

Born and raised in Lebanon, MO., Tony Jackson Jr. began his racing career at age 16 on local asphalt tracks behind the wheel of a street stock. He earned his way to victory lane multiple times his first year along with winning rookie-of-the-year. Soon Tony to moved into a late model stock and just two years Tony accumulated numerous wins, rookie-of-the-year, and a track championship.

Jackson spent the next several seasons racing a variety of classes on both asphalt and dirt including a sportsman championship in 2005. The following two seasons brought Tony modified championships at Midway Speedway and I-44 Speedway along with numerous victories. Jackson also picked-up his first dirt late model win at I-44 Speedway in 2007. He finished fifth in the 2009 O’Reilly MARS dirt late model series.

Jason Miller will guide the talented rookie from atop the SS Green Light Racing pit-box. Miller has proven his ability with young drivers winning at Mansfield Speedway in 2008 with rookie Donnie Lia. “Our test with Tony was fantastic. I believe Tony has all the fundamentals of a great racecar driver. He has good feel and he’s not afraid to push the right pedal.”

“He has great car control and I think he’s a rookie that will turn some heads this season.”

No matter what class or the surface, Tony has proven his ability behind the wheel. By running a seven-race schedule Jackson will retain his status for NCWTS rookie of the year in 2011.

Tony is exceptionally grateful for the opportunity to make his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. It has been his childhood dream to race professionally. “Since I started racing, my goal has always been working at getting to run in NASCAR. I believe in Bobby, Jason and the team and I know that they will provide me the tools to be successful at this level.”

SS Green Light Racing General Manager Bobby Dotter is very impressed with Jackson. “We are very excited to have Tony join us this year. He and Jason seemed to hit it off right off the bat and we look forward to good things for Tony.”

Following his debut at Martinsville, plans are for Jackson to race near his home at Kansas Speedway followed by Texas, Gateway, Chicago, Las Vegas and the high banks of Talladega pending approvals.
