Chad McCumbee to Make 100th Career NASCAR Start at Homestead

Miami, Florida (November 17, 2009) – This Friday night at the Miami-Homestead Speedway SS Green Light Racing’s Chad McCumbee will reach a milestone in his NASCAR racing career. The Ford 200 will mark his 100th start in NASCAR’s top-three series since making his truck series debut in California in 2006.

When the No. 07 tiwi/Valvoline “Fuel Proof Guarantee” Chevrolet takes the green on Friday night it will be McCumbees 92nd start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) along with eight starts in the Sprint Cup Series. The race will mark the 60th start in an SS Green Light Racing truck for the 25-year old from Supply, NC.

“It’s hard to believe that I’ve made a hundred NASCAR starts,” McCumbee said. “It’s a blessing to be able to have a career doing what you love.

“2009 has been a transition year for SS Green Light Racing and we have proven that we can be competitive with the top truck teams. Ken (Smith) and Bobby (Dotter) laid out a plan to improve the equipment, run up front and our on-track performance has greatly improved over past seasons.

“We had a couple great runs early in the year and we have been able to show a lot of speed at many of the tracks but we have struggled lately to get good finishes. I think the most encouraging thing about this season is the number of people who have helped keep this No. 07 on the track; ASI Limited, Akzo Nobel, Spectrum Metal Finishing, The GPSstore.com and of course tiwi and Valvoline.

“We’ve had several top-15’s at Homestead the last couple years. We’re bringing the same truck that we qualified third at Texas with so we know the truck is fast and we’re shooting for a top-five for tiwi and Valvoline to end the season.”

The Ford 200 will be the third race with the Fuel Proof Guarantee on the hood of McCumbee’s Chevy and represents collaboration between tiwi, an in-vehicle monitoring and mentoring system and Valvoline synthetic oils and lubricants. The program, which was launched at Texas Motor Speedway, guarantees fleet operators an increase in fuel mileage or their money back.

“I’m very impressed with the Fuel Proof Guarantee program,” said McCumbee. “Fleet operators will not only save money but will increase the safety of their drivers. It’s a true win-win situation.”

Thirty-nine drivers are on the preliminary entry list for the Ford 200 that will be shown live on SPEED TV at 8:00 p.m. eastern on November 20th. It will also be broadcast live via radio worldwide on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and on SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
