Jason White, Driver of the #23 Gunbroker.com Dodge, will cash in his position as a driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and enter the World Series of Poker. White will be the first-ever NASCAR Driver to participate in the 13-day event that begins on July 3rd at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. White will be in search of the first place prize at the end of the event which includes high payouts and the coveted World Series of Poker bracelet. Last year’s champion Peter Eastgate beat out 6,844 entries taking home over 9-million dollars. White knows the competition will be tough, but as the first-ever NASCAR driver to enter the event he hopes to represent NASCAR racing well.



“I love playing the game. Like in racing it’s mostly mental, but you need some good luck along the way too,” said White, who will make the journey out to Las Vegas while the Truck Series schedule takes a few weeks off. “I’ve been practicing as we have some poker nights with friends, but I know this will be the real deal. This is serious stuff to some of these guys and I’ll be taking it seriously as well. I know it won’t be easy, but I’ll approach it the same way I do racing, take it smart, stay out of trouble and be there in the end.”

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is a poker tournament[2] held annually in Las Vegas since 1970. The winner of each event receives a World Series of Poker bracelet and a monetary prize based on the number of entrants and buy-in amounts. A World Series of Poker bracelet is considered the most coveted prize or trophy a poker player can win, with one from the Main Event revered above all others. The Main Event of the WSOP has been the $10,000 buy-in no-limit Texas Hold 'Em (TXHE) tournament since 1972. Winners of the event not only get the largest prize of the tournament and a gold bracelet, but additionally their picture is placed in the Gallery of Champions at Binion's. The winner of the Main Event has traditionally been given the unofficial title of World Champion.
