| O’Reilly Midwest All Stars postpone Charleston Speedway race scheduled for this weekend | Camargo, IL (6- 25-2009) By Kelly Brown – Public Relations Director – Heat not only wears on race fans sitting in the stands, it can also effect a race track, especially when it comes to dirt ovals. Due to the extreme heat and other track related factors Charleston Speedway has decided to reschedule their O’Reilly Midwest All Stars event originally scheduled for this weekend to Saturday, September, 5th.
Charleston Speedway, Located in Charleston, Illinois is a 3/8-mile Semi-banked oval. The September date will mark the first time that 410-winged sprint cars will be appearing at the track. In the past the venue has hosted various midget and 410-non wing events, but never with a wing strapped on the top.
“This new race at Charleston Speedway promises to be an exciting event, so it is unfortunate that we had to postpone it,” commented Scott Petit, Midwest All Star Series Director. “I have been working with the track and the decision was made to reschedule the event so the track would be in optimal condition to ensure that this inaugural event be both a success for both the Midwest All Stars and Charleston Speedway.
