SS Green Light Racing Closes 2008 NCTS Season

November 14th, Homestead Miami Speedway. Jason White and the GunBroker.com #08 finished 23rd in the Ford 200 Friday night at the mile and one half oval just south of Miami. It was the final race for Craftsman as the Truck Series Sponsor and for White with the SS Green Light team as the team has decided to cut back to one truck for next season.

White started the season-ending Ford 200 from the 31st position after qualifying with a lap of 161.05 mph and an early caution on lap seven helped Jason move up into the top-twenty for a few laps. The #08 GunBroker.com Dodge was competitive through the early stages of the event, unfortunately White did not quite have the speed needed to run with the leaders and fell one lap off the pace near the races halfway point.

During several cautions throughout the race adjustments by the SS Green Light crew improved the handling of the truck allowing Jason to keep pace and remain just one lap behind the leaders. The night ended with the #08 GunBroker.com Dodge the second truck one lap down in 23rd position behind winner Todd Bodine.

Jason finished 19th in NCTS driver point standings, his best finish in the series. "I have enjoyed running the SS Green Light guys this year," White said. "I have to thank GunBroker.com for all the support again this year. I have some stuff in the works for next year, so we’ll see where all the pieces fall over the next few weeks as to what we’re going to do in 2009."

SS Green Light Racing co-owner and crew chief Bobby Dotter looks toward 2009, “Jason and Gunbroker.com have been good partners with SS Green Light Racing this year. It will be different for us next year with the uncertain economy and plan to run only one truck.” Dotter added, “Ken is a good businessman and he has a plan laid out to improve the competitiveness of SS Green Light Racing.”

SS Green Light Racing finished the 2008 NCTS with two trucks in the top-30 in the owners point standings with #08 in 27th and the #07 in 28th place.

The team will announce its plans for the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the coming weeks.
