Jason Fitzgerald Heads to Golden Isles Speeday in Brunswick, Ga. This Weekend

JACKSONVILLE, FL (November 14, 2008)- Jason Fitzgerald and the Mixson Motorsports Team will travel to familiar grounds this weekend as he will compete at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, GA for a $3,000 to win NLMS sanctioned event. Jason was to originally scheduled to compete in the final O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series final event at Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN but that event has been postponed till next weekend due to bad weather in the TN area this weekend. Jason will race close to home at Golden Isles Speedway this Saturday and hopes to improve on his last visit there competing in the "Show Down on the Coast" finishing 6th.

Jason and the team competed last weekend in a pair of events. On Saturday November 8th Jason competed at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA in a $2,500 to win super late model event. Jason qualify 5th fastest and ran among the leaders the entire event finishing 5th in the final run down. Then on Sunday November 9th Jason traveled to Cherokee Speedway for the annual "Blue-Gray 100" in Gaffney, SC. The 100-lap $10,000 to win event was sanctioned by the O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series. Jason qualified 12th fastest and would race into the top ten of the feature event early but was caught up in someone else's wreck collecting damage to his right front suspension. Jason would return to the track after making repairs but was many laps down and finished 18th.

Jason remains in second place in the series points standings and still leads the "Rookie of the Year" points on the O'Reilly Southern All Stars Series in 2008. For more information about these events log onto the series website at http://www.southern-allstars.com.

"We had a pretty good car at both events last weekend. We got a top 5 finish at Screven and really felt we would have got another top 5 finish on Sunday at Cherokee but got caught up in some other guys wrecking. Were looking forward to racing close to home this weekend and hopefully get a win. Then next weekend we will finish the Southern All Stars Series schedule and hopefully wrap up the "Rookie of the Year" award and clinch second place in the series points standings", stated Jason.
