The 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will come to a close Friday evening with the running of the Ford 200 from Homestead-Miami Speedway. Jason White and the SS Green Light Racing team will run their last race together as SS Green Light Racing recently announced they would be cutting back to one team for the 2009 season. The race will decide the 2008 NCTS Champion, as Ron Hornaday and Johnny Benson are only separated by three points going into the finale.

SS Green Light co-owner Ken Smith explains the team’s decision. “First I’d like to thank GunBroker.com for their help this year. Dwayne (Gaulding) has been very supportive and Jason has done a nice job,” said Smith. “Looking to next year we feel we need to concentrate our efforts improving our on-track performance. We are going to change our program to run only one truck and focus on running up front. We believe that running in the top-ten is what sponsors are interested in."

"This season has really gone by fast for me, it’s the first year I have competed in every race and I feel like we have steadily improved throughout the year," White explained. "Bobby Dotter is an awesome guy, he has been around this series for a long time and I have really enjoyed running the SS Green Light guys."

“I have to thank Dwayne and everyone at GunBroker.com,” White continued. “GunBroker.com has given me a great amount of support over the last couple years and I can’t thank them enough.”

SS Green Light Racing co-owner and crew chief Bobby Dotter believes the team is ready to finish strong, “We were in the same position last year and we had a great finish to the season with Tim (Sauter). I know the guys would like to duplicate that result (11th place) this year.”

• The Ford 200 will be Jason’s 54th Craftsman Truck Series start and 94th career NASCAR start.
• This will be the first time Jason has competed at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the NCTS.
• Jason is currently 19th in NCTS driver point standings.
• SS Green Light Racing’s best finish at Homestead; 11th, on Nov. 16, 2007 with Tim Sauter at the wheel of the #07.
• 37 trucks are pre-entered for the Ford 200.

Jason’s thoughts on Homestead-Miami Speedway: “We had a couple of our best finishes (15th & 17th) at Kansas and Las Vegas on mile and a half speedways. The banking is progressive so it’s more like the new Vegas but it’s more of a true oval. I’m excited to see how well we can run and I want to give the SS Green Light crew a strong finish to end the season.”

Practice for the Ford 200 is Thursday, Nov. 13th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m. Qualifying will be Friday, Nov 14th at 5:30 p.m. and the race will be show live on SPEED Channel at 8:00pm Eastern time.
