Billy Drake finsihes 4th in Final Lucas Oil Series Points Standings, Heads to Indy for Series Banquet

BLOOMINGTON, IL (November 6, 2008) - Billy Drake and his team will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana Friday November 7th for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 2008 awards banquet. The banquet will take place in the new Lucas Oil Stadium where the Indianapolis Colts play.Festivities will begin at 6pm (EST), with a Cocktail and Reception Hour, to be held from 6 pm until 7pm. Following the Cocktail and Reception Hour will be Dinner, which will be served at 7pm and last until 8pm. Capping off the evening will be the Awards Ceremony which will begin shortly after, at 8pm.

Billy Drake competed at all 40 series events in 2008 with the hopes of contending for the championship. Billy improved on his 2007 series final points standings finishing 4th in the 2008 series final points standings. Billy had six (6) top five finishes, seventeen (17) top ten finishes and one (1) fast time award in 2008 on the series. His best finish came in May at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway where Billy finished 2nd.

"We had a good year and improved on our finish in the series points standings in 2008. We would have like to have won a few but we had some bad luck and mechanical failures at times when we had the chance to win a few. We'll work on our stuff over the winter and hopefully be better next year and get some wins and contend for the championship", stated Billy.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series officials have released the SPEED Channel broadcast airdate schedule of 14 series telecasts that were taped during the 2008 racing season. The programs are produced by Newave Video Productions, and will air on selected Saturdays starting on December 6th. The TV broadcast schedule is listed below.
