Earl Pearson Jr. 2008 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion, Heads to Lowe's Dirt Track for World Finals

ARCHDALE, NC (October 28, 2008)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team will compete in their final event in 2008 this weekend in North Carolina at the Lowe's Dirt Track in the World of Outlaws season finale. Earl will first compete on Thursday in the two rounds of qualifying for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series events for Friday and Saturday night. Friday nights events will include heat races, B-mains and the 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday Earl will again compete in heat races, B-mains and another 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Saturday night's event will be broadcasted "live" on the SPEED Channel network from 8-11pm from the Lowe's Dirt Track.

Earl has seen both success and bad luck at the very fast Lowe's Dirt Track winning a Southern All-Stars sanctioned event at the track several years ago but most recently broke his wrist in a wreck this past April at the Colossal 100 sanctioned by the World of Outlaws. Earl has won one World of Outlaws sanctioned event in 2008 back in July winning the World of Outlaws feature event at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH. "Were looking forward to racing in North Carolina this weekend being close to the race shop and having a lot of fans and friends attending the events there this weekend. Hopefully we'll have better luck this time there than what we had back in April breaking my wrist in a wreck. Our sponsor LifeLong Locks is just up the road from the track so hopefully we can get a win for them to end the year", stated Earl.

This weekend's events will be Earl's last event for the 2008 racing season. Earl has won six feature events in 2008 including four wins on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and his fourth Lucas Oil Series national championship and fifth national touring series in a row. Earl's stats for the 2008 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series include a tie for the most wins on the series with 4 wins, 21 top 5 finishes, 28 top 10 finishes and 3 Fast Time awards in 40 sanctioned events in 2008. Earl also won the PBM/Erson Cams Hard Charger Points Category in 2008 and will receive a special award for that along with being crowned the 2008 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion on November 7th at the series year-end banquet.
