Billy Drake wins Busch Illinois State 100 at Peoria Speedway, Heads to Georgia for Final Two Lucas Oil Series Events

BLOOMINGTON, IL (October 1, 2008) - Billy Drake Racing traveled to Peoria Speedway in Peoria , IL and competed in the "Busch Illinois State 100" this past weekend. Billy would finish 3rd in his heat race to earn the 9th starting position for the 100-lap $6,000 to win feature event. Billy would use his past experience at this track to have his car setup perfect for the feature. Billy would advance into the top five early and took the lead by lap 40 of the 100-lap feature. Billy would go on to lead the remaining laps and win the $6,000 first place prize money.

"It was good to get a win and to race close to home in front of several of my sponsors was really special as well. We struggled a little in qualifying but we got it working really well for the feature. I just used my past experience here to be patient and was able to get to the front early on and once out front we had the car to win" stated Billy.

Billy Drake Racing will travel to Georgia this weekend for the final two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events. Friday October 3rd Billy will compete at Rome Speedway in Rome, GA in a $10,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday Billy will compete at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA in a $15,000 to win Dixie Shootout.
