| Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team Get One Win and a Second Place Finish over the Weekend | VIENNA, WV (September 24, 2008)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team competed in the "Harvest 50" at Skyline Speedway in Stewart, OH on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a $3,000 to win feature event and Sunday's event was a $5,000 to win feature event with a $3,000 bonus going to a driver that can win both events. Steve would set fast time on Saturday but finished second in his heat race. "Showtime" Shaver would put on a masterful show in the feature working through the field and taking the lead in a rim riding show that had the fans on their feet. Shaver would hold on and win the first leg of the "Harvest 50" on Saturday and the $3,000 first place prize.
On Sunday Shaver looking to repeat his title at the "Harvest 50" champion would finish second in his heat race. In the feature Shaver would battle with the leaders throughout the race chasing Blair and eventual race winner McGuire throughout the event. Shaver was able to move into second late in the race but couldn't muster a pass on McGuire for the win. Shaver would finish second at the checkers.
"We had a great car all weekend and a lot of fun racing those guys. It was great to get the win on Saturday but we were just one position short on Sunday. All in all a good weekend for our team," stated Steve. Steve's racing schedule is uncertain at this time and we will announce his plans for his next event that he will attend in the near future. Steve will take this weekend off from racing.
