SPEEDY FAUCETTE AND JESSE INGLE III LMS WINNERS

By Brenda Murphy

ALTAMAHAW, N.C -Sept 19, 2008- The end of the season is fast approaching, and with it all the excitement that comes with championship hopes. It all comes down to the last races of the year. Dean Fogleman came out on top with two consistent finishes. Speedy Faucette and Jesse Ingle III both had visits to victory lane in the premier division. Robert Turner was back in competitive form Friday night after a tough season.

The first LMS feature of the night had Mebane's Faucette and Burlington?s Turner racing for the win. Although Turner seemed to have the fastest car, he showed a lot of discipline and respect for his fellow driver as he race Faucette. Faucette and his crew did a great job of getting his backup car race ready after last weeks extensive damage to his primary car. If that had been anybody but Robert there I?d have got wrecked was Faucette?s response after taking the win. It was his 11th win of the season. Rodney Cook of Reidsville finished third after running an aggressive race fighting to get to the front. This made a three way tie for first going into the second LMS race of the night.

The top six finishers from the first race were inverted to set the lineup for the second race. After the inversion, Gibsonville's Jesse Ingle III started in the front position. Ingle never gave that position up and went on to his first victory of the season. Behind him Turner and Cook was fighting it out causing a frontstretch spin with Cook?s car ending up in the outside wall. Fogleman finished in the second position and Turner came back to third. Faucette finished in the fourth position to help his points chase. After the race in the technical inspection area, Rodney Cook refused to submit his carburetor for inspection. This voided his third and fifth place finishes resulting in no points or winnings for the night.

Modified division was won by Josh Nichols of Cleveland, NC making it his fourth victory of the season. Randy Butner of Pfafftown finished second and Mocksville?s A. J. Sanders took third for his first podium finish in the Modified division. Brad Allen continues to hold the points lead by four points.

Limited Sportsman race was won by Burlington's Ziggy Zimmerman. Zimmerman led from start to finish picking up his seventh victory of the year. John Moore of Pelham finished second and maintained his points lead. Eden?s Bobby Griffin finished third.

The 20 lap Mini Stock race was won by A. J. Sanders as he lead from flag to flag. Mike Herron of Burlington finished in the second spot and Thomasville?s Michael Tucker took third. Tucker remains the Chase points leader by six points.

Xtreme race was won by Patrick Colman of Pleasant Garden. Colman also was fast qualifier in the division. Ben Walker of McLeansville finished second and Yanceyville?s Harold Jefferson finished third. Jerry King of Burlington won the Flathead Fords.
