BLOOMINGTON, IL (July 16, 2008) - Billy Drake Racing will travel to two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events this weekend. On Friday night July 18th Billy and the team will compete in Pontoon Beach, IL at the Tri-City Speedway for a $10,000 to win feature event. Then on Saturday July 19th Billy will travel to Wheatland, MO and compete at the Lucas Oil Speedway in another $10,000 to win feature event. Both events will count towards the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national point's standings and the Speed Channel cameras will be on hand to tape the events for broadcast. Billy has climbed to 4th place in the series national point's standings his highest position in the series standings to date.

This past weekend Billy competed in two Lucas Oil sanctioned events competing in both the state of Alabama and Mississippi over the weekend. On Friday Billy competed at North Alabama Speedway for a $7,000 to win feature event. Billy started 14th and was able to manage a 5th place finish in the final run down. On Saturday Billy traveled to Columbus Speedway in Mississippi for a $10,000 to win feature event. Billy would start 5th in the feature event and would maintain a top ten finish throughout the feature and finished a strong 6th place. "We had a decent weekend and gained some valuable points to get into the top five in the series points standings. Hopefully we can get a win soon and keep finishing in the top five", stated Billy.
