English outduels Nichols for Toccoa Super Late Model Win

By Bill Kellett

Toccoa, GA -June 21, 2008- This past Saturday one of the largest crowds of the season filled the grandstands to see some great Toccoa style dirt track racing. The oldest operating dirt track in Georgia didn't disappoint anyone!

Doug English, of Clayton, out dueled fellow Rabun County driver Randy Nichols for the Super Late Model win. Nichols pressed English for most of the 30 lap event. David "Bad Boy" McCoy of Franklin, NC outduled his teammate Melvin English, of Clayton, Ga. for the Limited late Model win. Another Rabun County driver, Matt Pruitt took third.

Clayton Turner, of Toccoa finally found his way back to victory lane in the Fastrak Crate Late Model event. Turner finished ahead of 14 year old Dalton Bates and Steve Richardson for the win. In Hobby Bobby Hill continued his win streak which means the $100 Bounty on the #9 Hill car will roll over next week. Tracy Addison completed a perfect weekend with a win in the Street, he had won the night before at Lavonia Speedway! Justin Woodard was the Stock 4 winner and Richard Sanford won the Bomber event.

Toccoa will be off this Saturday, June 28, but will return to action on Thursday, July 3, with the Southeastern late Model Sportsman series, Super Late Models, Hobby, Street, Stock 4's and Bombers! Plus Promoter Randy McCoy promised the largest Fireworks display in the history of Toccoa Speedway.
